Which is also a thing, as our rightwingnuts show a terrible lack of historical knowledge, having been spoonfed a bullshit narrative by folks with an agenda, and are thus inclined to repeat every awful mistake thereof - but history is kinda important to me cause it was initially one of the hard breakpoints between me and this society when I learned just how *much* they were lying to me back when I was just a kid.
Not to mention personal involvement - see, appalachian hill folks have always despised the goddamn Pinkertons due to the conflict between mine workers and corporate bastards, this is more or less an unresolved blood feud, not at all helped by the USDOJ being founded on those scum and that apple never really falling so far from the tree, to the point where a specific law had to be laid down in order to break the Pinkertons from using the USDOJ as their own pet venue to serve their corporate masters - the Anti-Pinkerton Act of 1893, which mind you also forbids the Gov't from hiring PMCs like Blackwater, but as usual when the law stands in the way of the powers that be they just ignore it as they think such rules don't apply to them.
That ole "honest" Abe had them so firmly in his court is one of the many, many, many things which defy, even make laughable, any notion he gave a shit for anyone but his corporate masters - but then given the bastards who still idolize that monster these days, no wonder, since they themselves are doing much the same.
Even the GOP initial support of civil rights quickly faded, even curdled into just the opposite, as it was never anything more than a political ploy used to secure more and more control, ever hoping for the Neo-Feudo-Fascist agenda which they've carried since the days of Hamilton, who in all truth wanted a new aristocracy with himself at the head of it, rather then anything even remotely resembling equality, although he occasionally (and poorly, without credibility) paid lip service to it - thanks be to Aaron Burr for doing us THAT favor.
So effectively the Republican party was founded on Fascism and deception, and their agenda hasn't really changed any from the get-go, cause the differences between the Alien and Sedition Acts, and the so-called Patriot Act, are merely cosmetic in nature - and this has given rise to every toxic fruit of that poisonous seed.
To know history is the power to grasp the reins of the future.
Rappy and his ilk do not understand this, never manage to comprehend that folks like me know what they are, gullible dupes serving an agenda so monstrous it should never see the light of day - and then cannot understand why we find them personally, professionally, and profoundly despicable, because any attempt to cure that ignorance is met with such rabid hatred that their true character is instantly revealed, empty shells who have sold their own humanity for promises every bit as empty, ragged fragments of people glued together by the lies they tell themselves over and over, in their desperation not to convince anyone else, but rather themselves...

There's that wonderful "one-way street" of Rap's at work. Absolutely everything else aside (including the fact that I've disagreed with and dissed Obama at times), the fact that Obama wasn't my choice, I didn't vote for HIM in the pimary, and only voted for him "over" Romney/Ryan in 2012 means nothing...not only is Rap happy as a clam to not just accuse me of "cheerleading" Obama, but according to him I WORSHIP him.
