Add "Shiny!" to the list, or the way of speaking, you know, dropping out words, and suffixes where they're not needed etc.

Yes, yes, exactly ;)
I was watching Planet's Funniest Animals last night, and before they went to commercial, they were showing a clip of a penguin swimming around in the water, chasing someone's hand-shadows. The voice-over guy said "shadow puppets". It was a joyous occasion!

Always a beast, never a burden.
No normal people do this!!!!
That really depends on your definition of 'normal' don't it?
For example; I live with 2 women. One is an artist, working in sculpture. performance, photography and allsorts. The other is a scientist, an expert on brain chemistry and interested in a bunch of other fields. I am a professional occult expert with a strong interest in heresies of all kinds.
We don't give 'cocktail parties'... but conversation at the parties we do have may very well take in more than a few scientific theses, Nobel or not (and BTW the Nobel selection process has as much to do with the actual merit of the work on display as the Oscars do...). This would be normal conversation for our crowd - honest!
(Silly me, I had this odd idea that people interested in a science fiction show might possibly have an interest in, oh I dunno, some *science* once in a while?)

When you go to see Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and there's an overhead shot of the Hogwarts Express and you expect Jayne to lower himself onto it...and in the next scene Ron is wearing a knit hat with earflaps and you expect there to be a payoff of some sort.
Sadistic crap legitimized by florid prose

LOL - yes - This is exactly what I was about to mention on here!
Saw Ron in that hat - and immediatley started to compare it to Jayne's!
(It was rather better knitted, but then, Mrs Weasley does use magic to help....)

i have two:
1) when you start cursing in mandarin at work
2) when your friends call and ask if you want to go out and you say no and they automatically say "Not everything revolves around Joss Whedon!" If they're my friends they will assume everything you say (band practice, dinner with the family, work) is code for "watching some Joss show"

When your U2 t-shirts sit on the shelf collecting dust, But your firefly T-shirt is washed at least twice a week, so you can wear it more than once a week. Not only that you buy your spouse a similar (but not the same)Firefly shirt just so you can do that cute matching thing she loves so much. Furthermore, you go to www.cafepress.com
Especially frequently

just to see if any new designs have been made.

-When you have 2 Blue Sun T-shirts that you wear all the time.
-When you bought a brown western duster similar to Mal's because it looks so cool.
-When you have a friend make you a replica of Mal's gun for your Browncoat costume for Cons.
-When you quote Firefly all the time.
-When terms and Chinese phrases from the show become part of you daily vocabulary without you noticing.
-When you have Blue Sun labels made up to put on wine bottles in your cupboard.
-When you and three of your converts sit around on Saturday nights watching Firefly or playing your own version of a Firefly RPG.
-When you can recite the lines from each episode word for word and everyone else in the room is looking at you funny.
