Yahoo! TV Says Firefly Needs To Grow Fast

Rick Porter over at Yahoo! TV had this to say about Firefly in his Fall Premiere write-up.

What They Got Right: What we've seen is a 40-minute, heavily edited version of the original two-hour pilot. The spaceships-and-six-shooters juxtaposition is pretty interesting, and it does a good job of establishing who's who in the relatively large cast (nine regulars). It has potential to grow.

What's Oh, So Wrong: It needs to grow, and fast. FOX asked Whedon to scrap the two-hour pilot and come up with a new first episode that has less exposition and more action, which was sorely lacking in what we saw. Whedon told reporters he agreed with the network, but it's never a good sign when a pilot undergoes major surgery.
