You didn't ask for everyone to "show some respect" whenever someone you admire dies; you asked us to "show some respect" for "the passing of someone" - not someone conservative, just *someone*.
Hugo Chavez was someone. So was Saddam Hussein. Jack Murtha was someone as well. And Osama bin Laden was, too.
You have no intention of "showing some respect" to anyone other than your useless conservative idols. The way you feel about Chavez, *I* feel about Maggie. I'll joke about her death all I want, thank you very much. And if you don't like it, you can always leave, as you like pointing out to others.

People seem to find it so easy to hate, and hate the whole person and have no interest in the fact that there are many aspects to the person, that they may have done some really good things as well as bad things, and of course to "hate" the person for things which that person alone wasn't responsible for. Thatcher didn't operate in a vacuum, any more than Obama or Bush or anyone else in any government. And I have no doubt there was more to her than the things people think about when they hate her so virulently.
I'm sad for the death of just about anyone, death brings pain and suffering to others beyond the person who died. There is nothing to relish in that, for me anyway.

HK, Three people who made the 80s and the future were President Reagan, Pope John Paul 2, and Prime Minister Thatcher. Neo cons today don't understand what it is to be a conservative means. All three could have done better but that is every one. Reagan on the drug war, Pope JP2 not addresses the perverts in the church, and Thatcher letting Liverpool sink into the Mersey River. That is why Northern England and the unions hate her to this day. The liberals don't care about the poor or working people they wouldn't have their yuppie lifestyle in London with out her changing the game. But GB had to get competitive. Having family in England who were quite conservative from growing before WW1 and being adults before WW2 supported Old Maggie. England became a better place. Now they did a lot on the domestic front but they were in their realm when it came to the international stage. I mean it was a time to go against the soviets in every part of the globe. Those three standing together as a solid front changed the world. I miss the leaders we once had. Bush hijacked Reagan's vision and drove the US into capitalism built on war. The other party calls for change but it the same ole same ole. I went to Reagan's funeral, watched the Pope's on TV, and now I'll see another great leader pass. RIP.
