Presidential Debate

Yup, Nick, you pretty much covered the "biggies" Romney spouted. But in fairness, Obama gave out a few of his own "fibs"--which the supposed left-wing media was happy to dissect--too. Only FauxNews didn't give a full fact check, and "fact checked" only one item on their website...slathering the rest of the front page with anti-Obama "articles".

What Nick quoted is pretty much the short version of the most outrageous lies Romney told, so if you don't care or don't want to take the time to read the MUCH longer version from a number of websites that I put up, that covers Romney. Just bear in mind that Obama did some fact twisting, as well.

I'm still wondering why the wonderfully "fair and balanced" FauxNews didn't do a fact check of their own. I guess they couldn't take the comparison between Obama's omissions/twisting and Romney's out-and-out LIES. Interesting.

Let's let the demented right-wing nutcases enjoy their "conquest" while they can and as loudly as they can; reality will probably hit home before too long. After all, it's only a month to election day; unless Romney comes up with something beyond a fabricated win, their delirious joy will be short lived.

ETA: I believe Romney's lie about pre-existing coverage is because his plan says specifically that it will“Prevent discrimination against individuals with pre-existing conditions who maintain continuous coverage.”

Just because Romney and the rest of the world doesn't blindly swallow the fairy tales of the Left, doesn't mean Romney is "lying". Why would I do that? Hell, in case you didn't notice (I saw rhetorically, because you rarely follow along with threads), I was the first one to come here and congradulate hiom on his performance last night.

This was expected. Every incumbent but Clinton has lost the first debate for at least the last 35 years. Obama still has a sizable lead, electorally. This will, at best, give Romney a tiny bump in the national polls, that's about it.

Meanwhile, you're the one supporting the guy who can't seem to stick to a single stance on anything, and has just put in what is already becoming known as the least honest debate appearance ever.

Your guy managed to not fuck up for once. Enjoy your celebration, fine. But it doesn't mean a whole hell of a lot in the long run.

This is true. It's the many blatant falsehoods that make him a liar. There are plenty of fact-checkers out there who have torn Mittens a new one. Granted, you'll never look at them, because you'd rather continue to believe the lie than look at any facts that don't come from some hard-right blog, but the grown-ups know well enough to look beyond Fox and Rush for our info.
