I was thinking about it last night, and I remember when I first read the monstering rant.(2003ish?) I remember wanting to BE a journalist for all of about 30 seconds, then I realized I would get in a lot of trouble, and consistently, hah.
Even if ya read it a dozen times there is something you still haven't seen. I gotta wonder what is really really hidden in there...
There is several people in Spider costumes if ya google images, btw...

I think we could still squeeze Patrick Stewart in, as Ylenas dad - I suspect he'd be better for that part, in fact.
I thought about the notion of Spider not necessarily being any particular race, and you know who sprang to mind right off ?
Ice-T, who is, IMHO, a far better actor than he ever was a musician, although no one ever seems to credit him for it, and he can pull off a really bonkers-level anti-authoritarianism and paranoia that just fits Spiders demeanor so well, and he has the rage naturally...
Picture in your mind, for just a moment, HIM delivering that "Monstering" rant.
It so works, dunnit ?

Yep. With ya on Patrick being her dad, too...
I had also run across the idea of Ice T. There certainly is a limited pool of people who can do angry rants well to choose from. Hollyweird needs a testosterone infusion, I think...

Hello,
Is Dennis Leary too old or improper for the role?

I think if you asked him to shave his head, he'd kick you in the balls...
I don't think he'd make a convincing Spider, although I did adore his epic hammery as Edgar Friendly.
