That's a very important question though.

That's what a ship is, you know - it's not just a keel and a hull and a deck and sails, that's what a ship needs.

The art director of FHM insisted that Summer wear briefs the same color as her bed's headboard. Summer said that would give her fans the wrong impression. She wanted them to know she hadn't any unsightly tan lines, but the art director said that was vanity. It was a negotiation to get Summer to cover herself, but it was in the contract (the ironclad "clad" clause) so the art director won and that's how this picture came to be.

Btw we're still waiting for the complete photoshoot; FHM's columnist said the release was pushed back to coincide with the release of Knights of Badassdom. We'll see...

So if I'm understanding you correctly, she wanted to be without her briefs in the picture but the contract said that she had to be (partially) clothed?

And how did you get this information? Can you provide a source?

I was satirizing actresses' eagerness to get naked. It was written in the spirit of this www.esquire.com/blogs/politics/jerome-corsi-birther-book-5765410 which caused a $285 million lawsuit here www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/06/29/esquire-sued-by-birthers-_n_887238.h

My fondest wish is for Summer Glau to sue me so that I can finally meet her in person. I'm hoping for her autograph, but I'll take a kick in the face if I have to. POW! I can imagine the sensational news headline: It Is No Myth -- Summer Glau Really Can Beat-up Everyone

I see. Irony or jokes can easily get lost over text. :)

I wonder if she truly could beat someone up, or if what she learned was designed to look good in front of a camera but not necessarily work well in real life. Also of course if she still remembers the techniques from Serenity.

I think she can fight. I also think her concern with hurting anyone would severely handicap Summer Glau in a demonstration of technique, even if she was fighting volunteers. There would be too much, “Sorry! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to kick you that hard. Should I call 911?”

But then there are the comics where Summer Glau is a merciless competitor. http://xkcd.com/580/
