I kind of like it. My dad and I are sticking with it for now and its on when I'm with him so I actually have time to watch it. Sure its not super exciting yet but I'm enjoying it well enough (note that I'm pretty easy to entertain). The problem is going to be getting my dad to stick with it if more things don't explode, he has a very short attention span when it comes to shows, if there isn't enough action he usually gets bored and doesn't feel like watching anymore so hopefully it will keep his attention.

The drug addiction element of tonight's show was interesting, evidenced by the preview of next week's episode. As for going around in the daytime, I get the impression that the Skitters don't come out during the day most of the time, they prefer nighttime. I really like the idea that these aren't the real threat, that they're the worker bees so to speak, getting Earth ready for the big boys to come in. I know if I were the survivors (in an alternate world where I would actually _survive) I'd want to get as far from the city as possible and find space for starting a commune so we can grow crops etc. because canned goods won't be around forever.

In the show they said about 90 percent of humans died, so there are lots left. A decent chunk of world's-come-to-an-end stories kill off 90 percent of people, leaving plenty left to continue on but not enough to be "over populated" anymore, I put that in quotes because overpopulation is a relative term and it isn't my job or anyone else's to decide where the line is crossed. Anyways that's the one thing in PN's rant that made sense, the 90 percent of people dying thing.

Well I'm liking it. I've enjoyed the start of this a great deal more than I did V. I like that they're taking their time with it.
Nice production values, decent enough actors, plenty of characters that rub you up the wrong way and a little hint of something else going on with the Aliens.

"Some" is the important part of that "some realism" part. There are many great stories that would be utterly ruined by too much realism.
