Just noticed a picture on a disney news site taken at Universal studios, CA that's of interest to all of you. Check out the bottom of the page, it's the 4th listing on the board:

Possibly some intern was filling out the board and just continued writing "TV show" when the sheet he was working from said "Movie".

The interesting point is that Universal is allocating studio/stage space to the project, when my understanding was shooting wouldn;t start until summer. Pre-production? Planning? Rebuilding Serenity? (oh, yeah!) Somebody who knows the film biz take a guess and give their input; I'm still on the outside looking in as far as this sort of thing goes.

Oh, bugger! Now I have to wait for someone to wake up!

My family and I visited the LA Universal Studios at the end of March and I saw the sign up then too. There were actually two boards in different places, one that said TV show and one that said movie (I don't know if they just made a mistake on one and still haven't corrected it). We were really excited to see them, but we didn't have the special passes that let you go to the stages. But yes, I was seen jumping up and down with delight while pointing at a sign in the middle of a huge crowd...and yes, that was the highlight of my visit to Universal Studios...I guess maybe this is a situation that belongs on the "you know you're a browncoat when..." thread.

Would be cool to find out they plan on doing films for the off season. serenity, full season of Firefly, serenity 2, full season of firefly, etc.

I understood that the movie starts shooting in June, and the sign says April 21st...
is it possible they were shooting a pilot for a new TV show?
or is that wishful thinking on my part?

Anyway, it is always exciting to see anything about 'Serenity'!

I imagine it will take them a month or so to recreate the sets so that's not so surprizing.. :O) that would be a fun job.. I wish I lived close enough to apply.
