Unless you have some specific baddies lined up to add interest to the delivery, I'd would like Badger to be there in a turncoat role, harking back to the original "Badger's Betrayal" concept. Thorne has issues with his brother-in-law, and believes that making contact with him again could smooth things out for everyone involved.

Okay, hope that makes people happy. Sorry to come off so pissed, but generally when I make a mistake and it gets pointed out, I find the first place where things went wrong. I asked a week ago, and no one answered, so I figured it was kinda up to me. As for the explosion, I swore off smoking for a day, and had a whole lot of RL fei hua. Feel like tai-kong suo-yo duh shing-chiouh doh sai-jin wuh duh pee-goo right now. So again, sorry I blew up at you guys. Think RP is only thing keeping me sane right now. You guys, and Marlboro.

LOL, I sat down and watched a few episodes and tried to get his lingo and Mandrin usage down.

OK, I'll shoot a question back to you to help in my writing - which colloquialisms went too far?

I toned down the Mandrin because in the 4 episodes I watched, Mal did not use it very much. {Serenity, Out of Gas, The Message, Shindig.}

One reason I really like the character of Mal is he mixes slang, polite speak and Mandrin into a fairly good blend.

It's not so much that it went too far, but maybe not quite far enough. Ever notice how Southern folk sometimes are like the English - using fifty words to say something when 10 would have sufficed?

Yeah, I thinkthis latest bout proves thatI'm not prepared for double posting. Hell, I can't evenseem to handle single posting right now! I'd scrap Slight for Mal in a heartbeat, but I don't think I'm "Washing" all that great. Good point, Squee. It's alright, I think we have ample evidence I've pucked up on this one.

Yes, I AM silly. That was established a looong time ago {we been doing this since ... November?}. I am compelled to point this out: you being a gemini too, you iz just az zilly!

OK, I mis-read your first observation. I thought you meant syntax, as you stated. I suppose it was Mal's mother's voice in yer head comment - "Did I or did I not teach you to speak better than a low-bottom farmer", that made me think that.

About the south - All of my family is from either Newburn or Sharon Tennesse. I am one of the 1st generation of Hoosier Freeze/Johnson's. My experance is that most southern men use as few words as possible and the southern wimmen are chatterboxes!
