Niki -
Please show exactly where I said YOU claimed Kevin Spacey was right.
If you don't like the thread subject,I suggest you not take part.
And no, there were no personal insults there. Yes, I do betchya.
You can't deny what I said, that Spacey was wrong, so you then go on some childish ( wooo, another insult! ) rant about MY truth not being the same as reality. Well, guess what darlin', they're EXACTLY the same here. You can't deny that, so all you can attempt is to disparage the thread, and me.
And I read your quote, and thought it inane. I know what this thread is about, as I started it. YOU might not like it, and want to spin it for something it isn't, because you can't deal w/ the facts. You certainly aren't denying the facts, but instead, you're trying to re-direct the entire point, because it's uncomfortable for you. You WANT his quote to be true, because it ties in with how you view the world.
Kinda like how young earth creationists draw dinosaurs in the stalls of Noah's Ark. It makes perfect sense to them, because that's how they view the world. Just as it make sense to YOU that Churchill may very well have given 2 flips over state FUNDING for the arts, as Hitler was attempting to level London.
You think the Federal Gov't should fully fund the arts ( what ever the hell that means) , you want to promote that view, and you want others to feel the same way, so you have no problem with this little myth about Churchill.
I get it.
But you're not dealing in REALITY.
You just aren't. Sorry.

Given the remarks began with "Niki:", it was obviously pointed at me. Saying what you did OBVIOUSLY infers that can't "deal" with Kevin being wrong. I never doubted Spacey was wrong about the quote from the first time it was shown he was. That doesn't bother me in the slightest; I have no investment in his being right. I was never addressing that, I was agreeing that it wouldn't even BE here if it weren't for your need to diss anything even SLIGHTLY "leftish". But you needed to take it BACK to him being wrong, obviously.
Kevin was wrong. Deal w/ it.Quote:
Bullshit, not even worth saying that anyone has the right to say anything in any thred here, but I'll do it anyway.

The fact that you insist none of the things I quoted directly from you were insults pretty much says anything that needs saying about you...and then you go on to AGAIN say I can't deny Spacey was wrong, which I never DID. I got as far after that as your truth being the same as reality and that I disparaged your silly partisan, rude thread; that was enough for me to have a good laugh, shake my head, respond this far and now go on to meaningful issues. I got your game, kiddo, I don't have to play anymore than I choose to. Bye.

Never worshiped actors, he kind of weirded me out
not sure why people claim to 'Love' these Actors
I did wonder if he was a good actor or being himself genuinely creepy
Kevin Spacey says he has 'so much to offer' Hollywood amid new allegations of sexual assault

The funny thing was that when I saw him in Dennis Leary's "The Ref" when I was a kid, I thought he was gay.
Then I saw him in a whole ton of movies over the next 20 years and was more impressed with his acting every time I saw him. Not one single character he played since was anything like the guy he played on The Ref, and most of them he was pretty bad ass.
Then it turns out he was gay, and I had a good laugh over it.

I really liked him in K-PAX. I thought he did an excellent job in a really good movie.
And I liked him in Outbreak. In a movie of overblown caricatures he stood out as being understated and sympathetic. Heroic even. Movie not recommended.
Haven't seen him in anything else, but I can imagine him filling the role (as I understand it) in House of Cards convincingly.
