Not exactly. It's not fair to ask investors to invest in something they can't make money on. Since Nathan doesn't want people to send him money, might as well get your own series going. :) The fans want it, they can have it!

Pretty sure it's possible to write a grant for something like this. Somehow.

I had a typography instructor who wrote a grant so he could go to Germany and collect beer coasters as a typography study. My hand to whoever - true story.

Before folks seek $67,000 to make a Firefly fan film,
they might maybe oughta investigate enough to realize
there is already a Firefly fan film out there called "Into The Black".

As per a kind request, the new series being created is now called "Tales from the 'Verse". However, the point is, unite behind it! Tell your friends! Pessimism will bring it to nought. Support each other and make something happen. That's what being a browncoat is all about. :)

Its not about pessimism,
its about being asked to throw support behind a project
that is competing for resources with other Browncoat-led fan film projects.

I'm just suggesting that a group invest a little Google time into the fanbase they are soliciting
before putting a new project out for consideration.

I just find it a might unsettling that ya'll can't even get past creating an original title.

Define the story you want to tell,
and the way you want to tell it,

A podcast is a different format, and a fan film that isn't exactly making it all the way yet and is having production problems aren't completely comparable.

On top of that, the title was "Into the Black: Tales from the 'Verse" which may have been a compilation of names. But those other people don't have a complete claim over it.

Maybe you should relax a little. :) These other projects actually had been seen before by the current creators - it was known.
