Since becoming a Shepherd, I find it difficult to watch a lot of television, even interviews. I was able to watch the recent Browncoats Redemption video, and that's been it as far as Firefly-related content goes for some time. You'll note also my posts do not include the sexual innuendos and comments often made by others. It is because I gave my life to Jesus Christ that I actively refrain from such things. In addition, I haven't seen any modern movies since 2004, except as they relate to unavoidable family imposed viewings (such as watching something at my mother's), nor do I watch TV any more.

I have recently begun fencing lessons though, and have taken a digital copy of the Eric Roberts and F. Murray Abraham movie, called By The Sword, and edited out all of the bad parts (cursing, suggestive scenes, comments) so I can watch it for its fencing and overall storyline.

Back then it would probably have been:

The Incredible Hulk
Battlestar Galactica
Space: 1999

but there are so many fondly remembered shows like Alias Smith And Jones, Six Million Dollar Man, Rockford Files and many others that it's hard to pick.

These days BSG holds up very well, The Incredible Hulk is okay but the episodes are very repetitive. The Six Million Dollar Man looks bad and I haven't seen to many other 70's shows to really comment on them. I tend to go more for 80's shows.

And now for a related thread hijack. I'm looking for the name of this TV movie/pilot that was from the 70's or very early 80's.
It featured a man who survived a lightning strike and could then power light bulbs by holding them or use a typewriter by pointing his fingers at it. Basically he could discharge electricity but he only had so much before needing to recharge. He was given a watch to show how much charge he had. During a fight at the end he lands in some metal pipes whilst 'electrified' and you think he's dead, before he obviously comes back and gets the bad guys.

Any ideas?

I watched very little TV in the 70's. There wasn't much time between sports and Theater in high school and Theater and girls in college!

CAn't pick just three so I'll pick my favorite tv line ups:
-Planet of the Apes/Kolchack the Night Stalker

-Incredible Hulk/The Dukes of Hazard.

-Grizzly Adams/The Muppet Show

Not to say I didn't love Battlestar Galactica, Kung-Fu, Buck Rogers(didn't that start in 79'?), Three's Company, Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, Six Million Dollar Man, The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, Space 1999(nearly as good as Trek) Starsky and Hutch, Charlie's Angels, M*A*S*H, and Star Trek reruns because I loved everyone of those shows and still do.

-Six Million Dollar Man-Just cycling through the complete series(at a snails pace. I want to make it last). Just watched an episode the other night with William Shatner as a fellow Astronaut of Steve Austin. Great episode.
Although I like Bionic Woman a wee bit better, I'm digging this set. To have both being released on dvd is a dream come true.

My faves were the one with John Saxon & the Seven Million Dollar Man one ("It's WILD, Steve!").

Like Penguin, I didn't watch a lot of TV in the 70s. I was in the Army 71-72, then from 74-90 I worked at two different jobs with mostly evening hours. I was one of the first people I was aware of with a VCR around mid-78, so I was able to tape some shows for the last of the decade.

I don't know if I could narrow it down to three, certainly not put those three in any particular order, so I'll just list the shows I remember more than others, although I will put them in roughly chronological order.

The Rockford Files
Barney Miller
Soap
Taxi

I would have said Mission: Impossible, but the best years of that show were in the late 60s.

I know it by name only, I never actually watched it though.

I just recently got hold of Sapphire And Steel. It was one of the first supernatural themed shows I watched and it had a major influence on me. Looking forward to re-watching it. It was a great show back then with the emphasis on story. Hope they hold up although I'm sure the visuals will look very dated.

I was going to add MASH to my list as well but I didn't see it until reruns in the 80's so I figured it didn't count.
