This whole idea is from an interview. This is another case of people getting worked up over nothing. Hell if I won the lottery I'd buy the rights too. I'm not staying awake pondering that one though. I loved Firefly and almost loved Serenity. Like anything in life you loved and lost... you need to move on.

"And I'm thinking you weren't
burdened with an overabundance of
schooling"

Then... why are you still here? Why do I keep coming back here whenever the slightest little bitty thing reminds me of Firefly?

"Move on" doesn't always mean drop like a hot potato, does it? I know what moving on means, and it doesn't mean setting it aside entirely. It means remembering and bringing what you learned from it into your every day life.

Keep believing Channin! Don't get jaded or 'move on.'

I'm with you and I'll draw their fire with this next statement while you keep the hope alive.

Here goes, have at me you blaggards!

I didn't like the Buffyfied Firefly they called Serenity.

There I said it!

I don't think it was terrible but it lacked the 'character' of Firefly. Yeah the characters were the same, the ship was the same, even the 'verse was the same but they were characitures of the originals.

Granted todays movie going audience is not an easy atmosphere to make money in. Look at the majority of the movies that are making money for proof. Look at the series on TV that last. What do they have in common? No story, no intelligence just flash and pretties. There are exceptions. Firefly was an exception and is worth fighting for.

We've become a society of crows and sheep.

Stand out of the flock.

Heard this song and dance before. "We're so excited! Our project is going to work! Now everyone else rally behind us and do all the real work."

That last part never seems to happen. At least they sound like they want some official blessing from Joss, Nathan or Tim. I hope they just focus on that for now. Mainly because I don't think they'll ever get that anyway. No sense getting people's hopes up for nothing.

Good gorram! Whatever happened to "We hold! We hold 'til the Captain gets back!"????

The last time I checked, we are Browncoats, not Purplebellies. I've been a fan since the very beginning. Hell, I was a fan when I saw the previews for the show, before it even aired! I will hold, and I will keep hope alive. There's no point in trying to bring down the rest of us just because you've given up.

This kind of detachment from reality is exactly the type of thing I think should be avoided. That's a line from a movie. It's just a work of fiction. Purple bellies are also fictional. Just like the chances this campaign will work.

It just doesn't seem healthy to me to be getting to worked up over something like this. If people want to have an open honest discussion about it then that's cool. Throwing out a bunch of hype and getting people excited over nothing but a website just doesn't sit well with me.
