How many people here are getting fed up with this 'Succatash' character? His posts are uniformly offensive and full of tasteless humor. I think he gives all browncoats a bad name.

Isn't it about time someone said "Enough is enough"?

Succatash isn't an evil force to be battled. He is a person with views, as are you.

I have had an exchange with 'Tash in the past and wish him no ill will. The exchange was intelligent and had absolutely no hostility in it. So, I have no idea where you are coming from here.

Quite frankly I find the "spirit" of this thread in very poor taste. If you don't like the guy fine, but to create a thread. That's just spiteful.

For us, Tash is certainly that - and I ask you to please leave him be.

At the risk of getting on Tash other wrong side I will only say that my exchanges with him and the comments by him that I have read have been at times quite uhmm... unsettling. I am simply relieved to see that I am not the only one.
He does make me laugh out loud at times so he does have that redeeming trait.

Admitedly... Succatash is a unique, sometimes unsettling, sometimes morbid & creepifying individual. But he's also funny on occasion, and his posts are (I think) in no way intended to be malicious.

He simply has a different point of view than most people, and enjoys sharing it.

I for one am always curious as to what he's going to come up with next. Even if it does end up giving me a major case of the wiggins.

As has been said previously... If you don't want to hear or see what he has to offer, simply don't read or look at it.

Tash is kind of like the River of this board. Sometimes playful, sometimes childish, sometimes subtle (I loved the thread to take turns writing the petition against take turns writing), sometimes brilliant, and sometimes it's like he's coming at someone with a butcher's knife.

He'll either blow us all up or rub soup in our hair, but he definitely belongs here.

Which is more offensive:

1) Someone who posts strange, potentially offensive, irreverent material, whose words may be ignored at will? OR
2) Someone who creates an entire thread for the purpose of launching a personal attack another poster?

If there's anything browncoats have to be ashamed of in this, it's that one of our own chose a public forum in which to attack another of us.

Astriana:

Greetings, gentleperson.

You're right. It's wrong to attempt to ostracize another, simply because they're attacking you. The correct course of action is to determine whether the offense warrants response (almost always not) and then either take the counteroffensive or ignore, based on that analysis.

Still, I'd bet that Thuccotash is giggling with glee over seeing himself as the target of debate and ridicule. It is attention, after all.

So, as long as he's having fun with it -- and judging from the picture he posted above, I'd say he's looooving it -- and nobody else here appears to be taking SergeantX's request to hang 'Tash in electronic effigy seriously, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Maybe SergeantX just ran out of snappy comebacks? As for 'Tash, remember, Tourette's Syndrome is a terrible disease; show him a little sympathy...

I don't think it was intended as a gag. It was a beleaguered plea for help.

Okay. . .I'm the official "late poster" to this thread.. .my apologies.

Something about this thread tells me it might have been a gag and not a genuine attack against Tash. . .but I'm going to defend him anyhow.

Since I've been on the board, which hasn't been long, I think I'm the only other person in which a thread was created that could be seen as a personal attack against me. . .and it was created by Tash.

Interestingly enough. . .after letting everyone else make their replies and say what they had to say, I posted a very carefully worded, deeply thought-out reply, and Tash's response was considerate, kind and friendly.

Here's a thought. . .let the guy say what he wants to say when he wants to say it. It's his right. If what he says BOTHERS you. . .maybe some self-examination is in order.

And I'm all for seeing the Naked Chocolate Disco Dance.

Wow, I'm REALLY late to the party. I had my "I-love-tash-but-not-that-way" speech al ready, but you people seemed to have covered all the bases.
