Well, we americans got the corn dog, which is pretty damn good in an of itself - not only does the lack of a nearby Arthur Treachers bug me, but one of the only things I miss about Tex-ass is that we don't have any Corn-Dog 7's up here, that being kind of a fast-food shop which served corndogs, up to and including one that seemed to consist of an entire polish sausage and was large enough to be wielded with both hands, yummy!

And however thought up the idea of modifying the concept to breakfast sausage wrapped in pancake batter (with syrup as a side) is a damn GENIUS, cause those are so seriously awesome.

I make my own, to avoid all those nasty additives like MSG, hydrogenated crap and HFCS, though - at least the copyright police haven't started chasing down people for recipes... YET.
My black-cover recipe book is actually guarded better than my financial ledgers and protected more jealously, as someone pointed out this morning.

Wow...we actually are in total agreement. Corn Dogs are great and the whole sausage/pancake/stick arrangment is an evolutionary leap in breakfast food technology that could only come from a free market capitalist system (likely a surge of creativity brought on by the Bush tax cuts of 2001).

That's kind of how I imagine American food. Take a sausage, wrap in batter, deep fry, drizzle over maple syrup, wrap in bacon, deep fry again, pour over double cheesy sauce, add marshmellows, serve set in jelly for thanksgiving dinner.
