Aside from that, THERE IS NO AMERICAN OIL. ALL oil is sold on a global market at the prevailing price, which we would pay along with everyone else. The only difference is that we get royalties for whatever is drilled in our country. I'd like to know where he got his facts and figures, as all he says is "he is right". Because unless he can prove it, he's blowing it out his ass.

And you posted yet again the Wayne Madden Report link? Like posting it twice makes it more true? Duh...

Er... Niki, PN, is actually probably right on this one, except for the "Jew banksters" part (though the banksters, generalized, might have a part in it; the federal government does have some investment in the industries).

If you google BP and Cap and Trade, you actually see that BP comes out in favour of it, time and again. This is because cap and trade will only benefit the biggest, richest of the fossil fuel business, and drive out competitors, INCLUDING competitors like alternative energy.

Really. For example, the production of biofuels actually does produce some CO2 and by products. Not nearly as much as oil or coal, but that industry is not as well established and might not be able to buy the permits necessary to cover their releases. This goes for a number of other alternative energy and even pollution disposal industries.

Wasn't disagreeing with that; was disagreeing with the guy who was up there saying there was enough oil in the Arctic to keep America fueled for the next 200 years, etc. His statements were far enough over the line, and his affiliations so obviously pro-oil, that I wasn't giving credence to anything he said. That's all. I don't like cap and trade, and immediately saw the inherent problems with it. Wasn't discussing cap and trade.

Yeah, he seems pretty slimy. Prudhoe Bay is in the decline, we only have a few years left. They have their eyes on ANWAR, but I've never seen any strong estimates on just how much oil there might be.

Not to say oil doesn't exist there, maybe I should go check and see if can find the estimates. But generally, I don't really like the idea of drilling ANWAR either. Just like they're always after drilling in Utah, yet even living here, and back when I was in close proximity with petroleum geologists at the university, I never did hear much to justify the drive for drilling here.

According to this, it sounds to me like we're ALREADY drilling in ANWAR. What congress is really discussing is the management of the oil fields, but the debate has been reframed as a "drill or don't drill" to polarize sides.

All the oil is also in oil shale... There's gas, I guess, but I'm really wondering just how they plan to get 50 MMBO out of oil shale. Processing that stuff is a bitch, there aren't any good methods anyone has come up with that I know of.

As I suspected, it's the exact same problems encountered with Utah oil. I'm seeing a lot of big dreaming, and not a lot of reality.

Sounds like they were ramping up tension with Iran July to September 2009. It's not proof, but it is consistent. Could also be coincidence, since that claim about the well being able to supply the US for eight months likely isn't true just because oil generally isn't sold directly to America, but I still wouldn't put it past the generals, CEOs, and politicians involved.

Oh, it's soo much worse than it seems.

The drilling done here has no real value except to poison the people, and level the land. The thing is that the amount of oil in the earth is reasonably consistent. Given the depths at which it can be found, were looking at around 50 billion cubic miles of oil containing earth. The oil found by primitive prospectors at the dawn of the oil age is that which is very close tot he surface in areas that are inhabited. There is actually seven times as much oil sitting on the surface in Alberta as is in all of the known Saudi oil fields.

Clearly, someone is fucking with us.

My uncle is an environmentalist, and has had a fairly similar journey in life to the guy in the video. As for why they put up with him at all? Personal. 90% of everything is personal. If they like you, they humor you, if you're not a threat.

I'll ask him about Lindsey Williams. Chances are, iftheguy is for real that I will find out that my uncle knows him.
