Okay, Browncoats.com posted this and it is apparent that Book is not among the listing of roles. I was hoping that Book would be back. I wonder what problems there are that keeps Ron from coming back or perhaps Joss wrote Book out of the script for the movie for some reason.

Maybe they only listed cast members officially signed? I still hold hope. There has to be a Book, unless they dropped him off between the six monts after the last episode.

No, this a list of roles that have been casted or need to be casted.

The roles that are described below are spots that Universal is currently casting for. Book as a character is not mentioned at all. Maybe he just won't be in the movie.

Folks try not to worry it's only been a few days since this project was officially green-lighted contracts and legal mumbo-jumbo can take weeks. It would hardly be unusual for it to take a week or two for everyone to sign on.

Not having Book in the movie is going to be a HUGE disappointment to me. The biggest thing I was lookign forward to was maybe finally figureing out EXACTLY what his story is. Man, I hope theres been some kind of mistake....

Well, I don't think Josh would try to recast sheppard book. If he isn't signed yet, he wouldn't be recast and therefore wouldn't appear in the "To Cast:" list.

Just some reasoning I hope is right :-/ Still gives room for him to sign

I think the young River from "Safe" is about six years old - too young to play the part of a ten years old.

Please, if you're posting spoilers (meaning rumours you picked up, leaks about locations, etc - anything that doesn't officially come from ME or from your own speculations based on already released material and relates to the plot of the movie), use clear spoiler tags! I HATE being spoiled in general, but even more so when Joss Whedon's involved. One possibility would be to have a huge spoiler thread for those interested in this sort of thing which the die hard spoiler free could avoid.

I'm right there with ya -- I hate hate HATE being spoiled until the actual advertising starts. I LOVE to watch the plot unfold without having any idea what's going to happen.
The only thing even vaguely spoilery I want to know is if Book's going to be in it or not, and, as someone on another thread pointed out, the current lack of a carved-in-stone yes/no on that could just be legal wrangling.

Please please -- just put "spoiler" in the subject line, and I will happily steer clear.

I sincerely hope Ron is in the movie. If not then I guess there's a good reason for it. Do you think it could be that he himself has declined to do it? And I wonder if this will affect the series should it resume filming where it left off if it gets picked up following the success of the movie?

I think that girl could very well play River at age ten... from the time she shot her scenes in "Safe" to this june she would have aged 2-3 years and besides River is a small girl for her age so she should look younger/smaller than other average 10 years olds.

I know, i have a small 10 yr old girl.
