For what ever reason, this animated series is far more palatable than the 3 ridiculous prequels. The plot, the characters, the writing..... far better viewing, imo.

There are, of course, a number of things which annoy the heck out of me w/ the franchise, be it animated or live action.

1 - The ever presence of R2D2 and C3PO. The fact that "little Annie" built C3PO himself, when the brat vader was a mere youngling, is annoying enough, for all sorts of reasons. But the perpetual pairing of these 'out dated' droid models ( by the time Ep 4 takes place ) really just gripes me. All those worlds, species, customs, technological gizmos and such,an array of star systems from the minds who gave us ALL this, and the never ending duo of this robotic Abbot and Costello act is the best they can do ?

2 - Light sabers as shields. Defending one's self from a laser blast w/ a saber is a neat, eye catching trick. Once in a while. But to routinely enter a full blown battle w/ nothing but a blade of light, and expect that you can block each and every shot fired at you, from any direction, stretches even the fantastic sci-fi level of credibility . I mean.... c'mon!

3 - Yoda's speaking. Ugh!! It's worse than William Shatner doing a parody of Captain Kirk!

Despite the draw backs, I'm still enjoying this version of the SW story. It almost makes me forget how I feel about those prequels.

Almost.

Bones: "Don't 'rawr' her!"
Booth: "What? she'rawred' me first."

SW = cartoon muppet show for children.

Even little kids can now do SW lightsabre SFX with Adobe After Effects.

SW Clone Wars is ok animation, but hijacks the Joss Whedon Girl Power Mojo with female jedi. Which we all know is impossible.

Princess Leia had that power, as Luke so pointed out, in ROTJ, though she never went through the Jedi training, did she?

Animation aside, the writing and "acting" / character development was more substantive than in the prequels. For a while I blamed Hayden Christensen. for his childish portrayal of Anakin Skywalker. However, after seeing him in other movies, I've come to the conclusion that Lucas is to blame for everything.

It's all his fault.
