Well initially I think it'd be something like this:
"This Ric guy he's either real short or he's very far away! No... I was right... He's short"

Mal's thoughts?
He's a likable enough fella with a sense of humour that rattles Jayne up good and proper. Wash likes him for that.
He seems to have a soft spot for River as he's always sticking up for her and looking after her.
He can certainly handle a sword but don't know his way 'round a pistol. He might come in handy at the next shindig.
I like the man's views on religion which means Book has his work cut out for him. Maybe he'll stop pestering me with his 'special hell' now and move on to him.

I suspect he'd offer me a job, one way or 'nuther.
