Awhile back I asked if anyone knew where I could find a photograph of Inara's teapot. Some kind person posted a link and I was able to get a good look at it.
Inara's teapot is a Japanese tetsubin teapot. They are made from cast iron. The were originally created to boil water for the Japanese tea ceremony, but when tea became a more social activity, they began to be used for brewing the tea.

This article is about tetsubin teapots for sale at Teavana. I am not selling or advertising them. I am just posting this to give you an example.

Sadly they do not have the design that is on Inara's teapot. Her design is hobnail. It symbolizes strength. And indeed she does have tremendous strength.
