Grad student at UIUC myself... I didn't realize being a browncoat was being part of an underground, but I haven't seen any overt browncoating around...

I work at the Community College of Rhode Island. I also travel back to my college alma mater of Rensselaer Polytechnic in upstate NY to visit my fraternity on a regular basis. I'm trying to convert them into browncoats as well, and a few already are.

Does one have to be a student to be a collegiate browncoat? How about a librarian? Henderson State University in Arkansas here, but I sure did put in multiple years as as student! (Bought multiple copies of the DVD, too.)

I think the idea is to be slightly disdainful and snobbish about the other uni, rather than go for outright hatred ;) Interestingly, I don't know a single person here who doesn't have a friend at cambridge.

Cool - we don't have a Downing here. I'm an undergrad at Jesus, doing Classics. Don't know anyone in Downing, but I know a few people in kings, pembroke and gonville&caius (sp?) :)

What postgrad course are you doing? Is it research or taught? I'm thinking of doing some postgrad stuff after I've finished here, so I'm intrigued... :)

Harford Community, here. In two years, I'll probably head off to Towson U. OR maybe that one college in Hawaii. I mean, it's *Hawaii*! Major is 'general studies' for now, but I'll most likely get my bachelors in Education or the like. Because you know, teachers get summers off!

And I do loathe working during the summer.

I hope to be studying Natural Sciences at Cambridge in October grades permitting. It's good to know I wouldn't be the only browncoat there. Do you know if there are many browncoats/joss fans there?

I can't really tell you what the Joss scene is like here - I'm more of a lone viewer myself. My guess is that there is a big contingent of Buffy et al. fans lurking around here somewhere not too far below the surface, so you shouldn't feel alone.

Thanks for that. I have to say I am a little bit terrified at the prospect of going to Cambridge so it's good to know that.

I want to take the Physics, chem and possibly geology or some sort of biology options. I want to do Physics eventually.

Of course I have to get three A's first which is a lot easier said than done.

Adding to the Canadian contingent ... I'm a long-time-ago grad from Augustana University College (aka Camrose Lutheran College for any *much older* browncoats ), and now I teach at NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Edmonton.

(Edmonton is where Fillion is from. No, I've never met him, and I don't know your third-cousin in Toronto, either. )

University of Wisconsin-Madison here. Yeah I can drink beer... Also for all you who go to Northwestern..I am originally from that area, I went to New Trier High School (where Adam Baldwin went...def not my class but was in my uncle's class) so I have a few friends who go to Northwestern. I am also heading over the pond soon to do my grad work in art therapy at Queen Margaret University College. Anyone else out there live in Madison? My sorority sisters are getting sick of my firefly addiction (yeah they have no taste)...
