I actually don't know, I never saw the ep with him on Craig Fergesun. I only remember seeing a vid of him on set when they were doing cast interviews/shorts and whatnot and he was just wearin a kilt. like the goof he is XD

I'm not sure how I feel about that. A few Firefly jokes were funny in the beginning but now that aren't as fuuny to me. They are 2 seperate shows, let's just keep it that way.
I mean, what if Joss keep adding Buffy jokes all throughout Dollhouse? Wouldn't that get old?

Hmm, I actually didn't think there were THAT many shout-outs. I haven't been fully convinced that the brown leather jacket that Castle wears sometimes is meant to be a reference, and I really only recall one blatantly obvious Firefly reference last season: the very special hell. Everything else that people say has been a reference really feels like a stretch to me.
I think it's more likely he was having a bit of fun, he's known to pull pranks and goof around a lot on set. He's also pretty much said that when he auditioned for the role of Richard Castle, he used his roles in Firefly and Dr. Horrible to show that he could pull off both the comedic timing, attitude (and, from captain hammer), the smarm. The cast and crew are all aware of this, and showing up Mal-ified would probably be good for a laugh.
