don't understand what to talk about on here i know you can't talk about yourself that's a big no no and you can't talk about firefly cast members what can you talk about in a ''GENERAL DISCUSSION BOARD''? Oh I know lest talk about what to eat or lets start a thread about caption tightpants (caption tightpants? how GAY does that sound?) Then hope that people like Jack peacemaker or Jack Bytemite approves of the thread or it will get shipped to the garbage bin likes who do they think they are to approve or disapprove of someone's thread?

I'm not sure if that's actually a question or a statement.
Obviously since it's titled "General discussions and comments relating to Firefly," it's supposed to be an area to discuss Firefly. I'm not sure everyone uses it that way, but that appears to be what it's for.
There's "Talk Story" for other general stuff; I check that regularly and we have fun down there.
And of course RWE is for politics for the most part, obviously.
I think it's great there's the talk story forum, as it's a place I can go to discuss things neither firefly nor (potentially) be involved in the, ahem, "enthusiasm" down in REW.
I don't think the people you mention are the deciders of what goes where, I think that's up to the person/people who pay for this board. I think posting what you did was out of line, but I'm not sure where it belongs, if that's what you're asking.
This IS a Firefly website, as well, so if one wishes to discuss other things only, I guess this is the wrong place to be?
Why can't you talk about yourself or cast members? Unless you mean saying unkind things about the cast members; given it's a fan site, I don't imagine that would go over too well...
Capt. Tightpants, by the way, is what Kaylee called Mal in Shindig...there's nothing gay about it, it was a snide remark on her part--I don't know what people discuss there, haven't been there, I like the three areas I mentioned and stay almost exclusively in them.
Are you really wondering, or did you just want to make a statement? I'm answering you as best as I can, taking you at your word. Peace.

As Niki said, the General Discussion forum is supposed to be in relation to Firefly, but a lot of other stuff gets put in here too. The Caption Tightpants threads are related to Firefly, since they are a competitive game to see who can come up with the best caption to a screencap image from either Firefly or Serenity.
I don't see anything wrong with talking about yourself or what's happening in your life, but the best place for that is in a Firefly Log, not on one of the forums, with the exception of Real World Event Discussions.
The main reason your posts have ended up in Troll Country is because you were making disparaging remarks about Jewel, and we're very defensive about our BDH's around here. Also, when you did talk about yourself it was mostly boasting about things that most of us didn't believe were actually true. It's hard to take you seriously because it is hard to figure out if you even take yourself seriously.
Discuss the show, discuss politics in RWED, even talk about yourself, but please try to be more diplomatic and a bit more modest about your supposed accomplishments.

It was both a question and statement I have never said anything unkind about a cast member and i don't recall being out of line I have tryed to talk about things in here but i keep getting sent to the garbage dump and thats jack peacemakers fault so now everythime I want to voice my opinon on something or disagree I have to worry if I said something wrong??And be called a troll for it??

You said Jewel looked like she'd gained weight. If that ain't disparaging to a woman, you don't know women at all.
You think "tightpants" is gay? Obviously you weren't paying attention, or you never watched the show. Go back and watch "Shindig" and see if you can figure out where "tightpants" came from.
You seem very hung up on the whole "gay" thing. Was there something you needed to tell us?

okay as my first attempt at relaying some 'fan-based' logic, I can respond to the "tightpants" query.

Off the top of my head, uhh Kaylee remarked to Mal that he was being uptight and rude and uhh.. oh crap I didnt do a very good job. Point being, it 'sounds gay' if you never watched the episode.
What youre saying, King, I will be the devils advocate and mention that I believe I do know of what you are referring. I've been coming here for some time now, almost a year but never created an account - never had much to say, Im afraid. Well that and the internet is full of people wanting to jump down others' throats on these here forums.
I only hope that the negative experiences you have faced in these here forums in no way translate to your feeling of the show. This is the most popular fan site I find, and its easy to correlate, but try not to.
