That's more like it! I remember back in the old days when I'd turn around and have missed three threads!

Got a little long to scroll down, so I have showed some initiative.

(Sets out a lovely continental breakfast with flowers on the tables, but in a "Martha Stewart goes Steampunk" sensibility.)

Old thread:

Morning... or evening where I am... quiet day, no phone calls returned and I stayed put so I didn't go underground so I didn't miss any calls... spent all day hanging around looking at the beautiful weather - what a dill I am!

I ought to have gone to the park, at least!!

Hope it's a good day for you all!

Happy Birthday Kelkhil!! *tackleglomp*!!

well see, most of the 'real life' pictures suck, either have just icky gelatinous frosting (of which flavor i don't even deign to guess, looks gross) or just plain chocolate frosting. but the Portal picture clearly shows something covering the frosting, but they look too flat to be considered chocolate "chips" seeing as how chocolate chips are actually hershey kiss shaped, and those just don't fly on a cake. doesn't look right.

i have a sense of humor but not when it comes to being berated about my ability to search the internet. sometimes people just don't find the same things and it's not the first time someone has taken a dig at me for not being able to find something. i just don't like it when people pick out my flaws and are like "wow, i'm so shocked you couldn't find that." it just rubs me the wrong way.

how am I unable to follow a thread?

Oh, for fuck's sake...

First of all, I did not berate you. Look up the meaning of the word... Oh. Oops. I guess that brings me to...

Second, we all know you don't search for shit yourself, which is why you so very frequently ask questions (on a completely unrelated forum) when you could quite easily answer them yourself. I'm fairly certain I'm not the first or only one to point this out to you.

Third, by "following the thread", I mean this: In the past two B&G threads, people - including me - have been teasing you about obviously not searching for shit yourself. Then you suddenly state that you "must have a search disorder." We've been pointing it out all along and you're just now catching on? Come on, now... how is that not funny?? But no, it's not funny and it's obviously not a trend, it's just me "berating" you out of the blue.

Fourth, you seem to jump on every goddamned thing I say in response to any of your posts. That tells me one of two things: either (1) you have something against me and therefore chose to read everything with a negative tone or (2) you have such a thin skin, you'll absolutely crumble if we look at you sideways. Either way, if you don't want people to respond to your posts, don't post. It's really that simple.

Oh no, I just have a sort of phobia linking from sites that are not image-hosting sites or places I'm sure I can trust. Our MsA had a very bad experience a couple years ago when a site either got hacked or put up a 'hotlink shield.' All their images were still there, but all hotlinked images were something quite yucky. Plus the image I found was gigantic and would have broken the thread twice if I'd posted as-is.
If you want to see the massive version, here's a link to the search: http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&biw=1440&q=portal+cake&gbv=2&aq=

For those of you who don't know Rosie is referring to the fact that I have small, hard to find veins and something call vasospasm which causes the vein to collapse soon after being punctured

Subclavian access for hydration? (JK)

Home birth? You don't have to start an IV with home birth! (Of course I was paranoid about things going wrong and did not try that option personally.)

My mom has the same kind of problems. On the one overnight stay she had at a hospital (that I remember, anyway) she pulled out all her IVs in her sleep, and they proved impossible to get back in.

HUGS Rose definitely had that problem , but mine has the other problem too where the vein " shreds" after a few seconds and is no longer usable for weeks... aren't I special and lucky.

Much as I'd love an at home birth I'm a high risk pregnancy so it's not safe to do... we gotta be where the crash cart and ER are no more than a moment away:) PLus no WAY I'd do this without an epidural

Try one ear to your shoulder, that arm across both eyes, and the other finger plugging your ear. It might work a little better.

Unless the point is to completely fail..

Go worship your woman!

Then rub her poor achy feet.

I do like Heinlein's little philosophy (to paraphrase)A man should kiss his wife's navel every day. Speaking as a wife, I'm all for that.

Now, as for the whole Evil/Awesome debate..
Um. Nah, it's been covered.

I've stopped my fanfic storyline. The muse was on extended vaycay, and I'd gotten about as far as I'm liable for quite some time.

Now I've got Vikings in my head trying to get out. HELP!

And possibly a murder mystery involving the SCA.
HELP MORE!!

And a snippet of dialogue which would better suit something written by Neil Gaiman involving a serial killer.
YOIKS!

I think I ended up with the muse's twisted younger sister or something. Maybe if I'm quiet she'll go away?

Right now I'm coming up with "died of the heat". Whoo! It's going up to 90 today. Luckily the humidity's only 82% at present. (icky)
It's headed for 94 tomorrow. I'll be in A/C thankyouverymuch.

(For those not living around here: we've had an unseasonably cool and wet summer, more of an extended spring really, and now that we're getting a few days of what would be rather hot weather even for this time of year normally it seems a tad hellish. No time to acclimate from 70s to 90s. Plus it's always humid here. "Hot,humid, and hazy" is our summer weather. Low to mid 80s is our upper range unless we're having a week or two of really hot stuff, or a heat wave. But we have LOTS and LOTS of moisture which seems to end up in the air. It is decidedly unlike Arizona.

You can live here quite happily with fans instead of A/C. Which is fine until you get a heat wave into the 90-100 range and then you have to set up places for seniors and others to go to cool down.

Winter is a little more extreme. We know how to handle cold. If you're hot you can only take off so many layers...(let's not go there, HK..).

So I'm whining about being warm at 8:51am and it's only 72 out. Ick. I see a garden hose in my future. I can't really take boychild to a pool or beach today because he's got a non-contagious rash, but you can't tell it by looking at him. (Virus) Plus, he just barfed twice this morning and is having general GI issues. Poor baby. So no large crowds today. (See? Some parents are concientious about public health safety!)

Anyway, it's hot. ick.

Evening all,

Very tired but managed to nearly catch up with myself (just have assignment ques for the first two weeks to rough out), iron work clothes, wash up, go for a run and get all this maths done.

Hope everyone is doing good, I shall be turning in shortly and hopefully next week will be slightly less manic and I can drop by a little more often.
