Um. We're comparing a pregnancy to a severe injury and developmental disorders?
I get where you're coming from. It's insensitive. But pregnancy isn't a permanent condition. Some people even think it's a good thing. I guess maybe I don't understand the EXTENT of the outrage here.
What makes this so much worse than any other joke made about someone's kid?

The popular thing in my Jr. High to cause outrage & start a fight was the old "I F*****d yer Mom last night" routine. How kids could get SO pissed by something so patently and obviously untrue was beyond me. "No ya didn't, but if it's a fight you're looking for, make a move" worked fine for me, & frustrated the idiots.

As I've pointed out, it's not that the joke was about a young girl. Rush and McCain have proven that, with their own cheap shots at Chelsea over the years. And it's not that the joke was about "rape", as McCain again has proven with his own hilarious rape jokes. It's not WHAT was said, or WHO it was said ABOUT, but rather WHO said it.
