In the right context (if Bristol was the one at the game), I'd say it was funny. But then, I invariably find slamming hypocrisy humourous.

There are two things wrong with this.

First of all, why is it okay if it is the 18 year old? The law says its okay for her to have consensual sex and you decide that means its okay to objectify her and disrespect her? I might be required to obey the law, but I don’t allow it to decide my morals or what I think is right or wrong. I don’t think an 18 year old kid is anymore deserving of being treated like trash then a 14 year old. So the question I have for you is, if it weren’t for the law scaring you off, why would you have any problem objectifying a 14 year old kid? What really is the difference in your mind, sans the law?

Hey, Finn, I'm sure you'll join every right-winger here in condemning Jongstraw for saying things like

Quote:

...does your 14-year old daughter want to be knocked-up by ARod, or even me per chance? What good sport!

After all, he's advocating rape of young girls, and in your mind, even if he were talking about 18-year-olds, it would be just as disgusting, right?

And clearly he's saying he likes fucking underage girls, so I'll be waiting for you and all your right-wing buddies to vilify him. Heck, you should probably call for him to be fired. WhoZit, I'm sure, will want Jongsy killed, just like he wanted Letterman dead.

Surely you'll want to put politics aside and tell me "good job!" for pointing out this kind of disgusting "humor" to you so you can denounce it, yes?

I'll wait. I won't hold my breath though.

The Palin video has someone shout "treason". Not "terrorist". How about this report where McCain DEFENDS Obama?

Oh, you're right (mybad), but, er, isn't treason just about as strong a word?

Bully for him. I kinda liked him before he chose Palin anyway.

It was perhaps a bit of a strong word to use.

I prefer that to "...found no evidence, so it must of happened."

Remember Bush's 1980 trip to Iran in back of an SR-71 to broker the deal to keep the hostages until after the election? Democrats cited the complete lack of evidence as reason to investigate.

Do as I say, not as I do. That's the Palin motto.
Or would be, if she started havin' a motto.

Funny thing is, I don't recall her telling anyone how to live. It's just the assumption heaped upon her by lose on the left that any one with a conservative or religious background will automatically force their value system on everyone else. It just ain't so.

But let's face it. We all screw up from time to time. To err is human, right? I can say all sorts of things about what my beliefs are and try to instill those beliefs into my kids. But in the end it's going to be the kids that make their own decisions. I'm not saying Bristol was evil for what she did. She made a decision to go against what she was probably taught. I know I did. My parents tried to tell me to wait until I was married, but I was a horny teenager with absolutely no self-control. When the opportunity presented itself . . .

So let's not jump all over Palin and call her a hypocrite and that she deserves the scorn of the left because she's not and she really doesn't deserve it. And to think it's okay to bring her kids into it is just hideous.

It was a big part of her campaign, for better or worse

and I'm not saying she is a hypocrite, just questioning the choices she made, the choices she'd have all of us make, and the consequences in either case.

I think that is perfectly fair, even if her family gets drawn into it, Lettermans joke was over the line and not even connected to this point, but I think a public figures past does have relevance particularly when that past goes to shaping public policys.

Yeah, well, Obama wasn't there.
I remember McCain saying to his supporters who booed Obama's name that he was a decent man. That bought him many point with me.
