May 4th or 5th, I forget which and can't be bothered to look it up.

Quote:I agree with Maniac'. Too bad Babylon 5 isn't in the running, but Firefly's got the other shows beat hands down. DS9 is the best of the Star Trek franchise, it's the only one I own on DVD, and that's a formidable opponent in sheer force of votes. Steven Spielberg, and I respect and enjoy his works, might as well be a cult all unto himself where another force of votes contributes. Me myself, since Firefly premiered a year and a half ago has rendered all of these other shows, even B5, cheesy and overly or underacted. Joss Whedon has become the new Spielberg. Let the riots begin.

It's indeed good news. Nothing in that list compares with Firefly. But you can never account for the lousy taste of the general public. I can just see something lame like Hercules winning. I can picture the news report. "The downtown area was closed tonight due to an unknown maniac lighting fires throughout the city. Riots ensued when those complaining of the fires found out that Firefly didn't win the Saturn awards... Well, these things happen."
"I'll be in my bunk."

Quite a set of shows, DS9 is the real tough one to beat in my opinion. Much like going up against the alliance!
That being said, Speilberg needs no more cudos
GO FIREFLY!!!
