In tonight's episode, Echo and Sierra are imprinted with spy hunter personalities to track down a spy in the Dollhouse.

Written by Hugo Award winning writer Jane Espenson, who has a great track record for scripting great episodes for just about any television series since her days with Buffy the Vampire slayer, and most recently Battlestar Galactica, tonight's episode ought to be stellar.

Sharing the writing credits with Espenson are Jed Whedon, Joss' brother and his fiancee Maurisson Tancharoen, both of whom, if you recall, co-wrote 'Dr. Horrible Sing Along Blog' with Joss.

Being that Jed and Maurissa are both musicians, had this been season 3 and the ratings for Dollhouse were great, this Spy. vs. Spy episode could very well have been a musical.

I suppose 'Dollhouse' have to make it to season 2 first.

Whoa. I think... that may have been the best one yet. Jane Espenson is amazing. I knew this already; I'm just saying. I've done well with avoiding spoilers, and this episode did not disappoint! *cries* Only 3 left, really? Since I spent a good third of the episode stunned, I think I'll have to watch again to get the full culmination of events.

Jane, Jed and Maurissa really crafted a great story. I was shocked several times. I was sitting there with my mouth wide open.

I admit I was tepid about Dollhouse the first few episodes but the last 3 have really blown me away. It keeps building and building and I don't want it to end.

Can we maybe have a Dollhouse section? It may end up being a short-lived show, but I doubt the discussion of a show with this many layers will be short-lived.

Oh, I SO hope the numbers are up a bit this week. Did it have anything competing for it, beyond being a holiday weekend? (that actually helped me, since I actually had time to watch the show on TV when it aired rather than having to go back and watch Fox On-Demand).

But... back to the discussion!

I agree EXCELLANT episode, but those people know how to write! I also agree is was VERY slow in getting to the 'good' part ,(was this F*x's doing?) now its going like a run away locamotive!

I need to watch that episode again, I know I missed stuff.

I'm still uncertain of two things about last night's episode;

(SPOILERS)

1) When Olivia broke down crying the morning after her fake affair...was it because she found out about her assistant's betrayal....was it because she finally realized that her love affair was a pathetic lie....or was it for something we do not yet know?

2) Her assistant turned out to be an NSA spy. Okay. But is he the spy who's been putting subliminal messages into the dolls?

It was awesome and riveting and addicting. So many twists and turns and subtle observations on humanity and culture that I was stunned several times on the way the story flowed. That doesn't happen on "regular" TV.
