In Trash, Monty drops off stuff to be smuggled, ending his part of the run.
Mal pics up said smugglage, to make his portion of the smuggling run.
YoSaffBridg gets pulled out of one of the boxes brought aboard as smugglage.
On to Bellerophon for Lassiter.
In Message, next shot episode, Mal is surprised the law has caught up to them so quickly, assuming they are after Lassiter - indicating this is right after Trash.
Was the smugglage ever dropped off? Seems it would have been before Bellerophon (waited 6 years, why not another day? Smuggling coordinator would haave wanted prompt dropping off of smugglage. Mal would not have ignored the smugglage to dent his rep among thievers.
I don't recall this being specifically addressed, so wonder if you all have already covered it.
Don't recall seeing the smuggled cargo on board after YSB was uncorked, but can't recall exactly looking about the cargo bay, either.
What say you?

My guess. They dropped off the cargo before starting in on the Trash Job. We didn't see it because handling cargo is boring while stealing laser guns is exciting and TV tends to prefer showing exciting things when it has the option.

Someone should sell the wobbly headed Geisha Dolls at conventions and make a killing. I think making a decent product and getting permission from Joss, with some royalties and I bet Browncoats would buy several and probably others too for the nostalgia of it.

I would have liked to have seen the wobbly head doll caper as an episode. Can you imagine the looks on everybodies faces when the boxes were opened to reveal those silly dolls. And they probably got shot at and chased across miles of space over them. What a laugh that would have been.

I conjured they did it before Bellerophon, but was not certain. A line like "we'll hit Bellerophon after the drop on Pelorum" would have clarified things. Kinda leaves things up to a degree of conjecture.

Me too! Well, since we don't have that episode some one could write a fic.

There is lots of conjecture in Firefly. I like it. It leads to lively debates and good fic.

Little geisha dolls with big heads that wobble exist.
I don't think it's something that required permission or royalty, unfortunately. Bobble-head dolls exist in many forms and are not an idea original to Joss.
But yes, if I saw one of these at a convention, I would totally buy it. The one pictured above is owned by a friend of our own Magdalena, and no one seems to know where it came from.
