Mike, you make a good point, if the gop would listen: There are a lot of people that the right hates that the left also hates. I'm sure that if republicans had tried to block the nomination to sec. of state for Hillary, based on whitewater and the clinton foundation's funky finances, they'd find democratic voters writing their senators to support the idea.

Years ago I got a lot of flack on this idea by suggesting republicans impeach Bush. In the totally gop controlled govt, they would've gotten John McCain, by the order of intent set down by watergate. That would have been much better for the reelection of any republicans running for office, the party image, and policy. Also, it would have found resounding support on the other side of the aisle.

You wanna sink a democrat, go sink THOSE shitheads, and you'd have plenty of support from both sides of the aisle.

Unfortunately I think part of why the GOP doesn't go after em is that they're more benefit to the GOP where they are - no need to install strawmen to hold up if the other side has already done it for you.

Crossing threads: That's why it was Pelosi and Hillary who stalled impeachement. Hillary was hoping to win the nomination, and run against the legacy of Bush, not an incumbent McCain who had been their for years and might have established some credibility. Or, an exiting McCain legacy, and some other candidate, like whoever he would have had for VP, possibly Steve Forbes, since this would have all been drawn from the 2000 primary.

He's my senator, and I can tell you, no objection here, and no objection from the local democrats. The NY democrats are ridden with this agenda monkey selection process that yields spitzer, cuomos, etc. The party is an inaccessible top down dictatorship, which is why no one gets in. There are small time liberals who run, and try to get it, but they're pushed out in favor of long term think tank operative types. The NY dems will do this even to their own defeat, and will not fund or lend a hand to grass roots candidates. As witness they imported Hillary Clinton.
