One week down.. one, two, many, lots to go!

I actually felt pretty good at the end of the three in a row. Talk to me in about a month when I've really had time to adjust.

I'm really looking forward to the two extra days a week to get out in the garden. Once I can see the ground again, that is.

We did the NOFA CNY chapter's annual potluck meeting and FEDCO seed order yesterday. Much good food and friends.

I was very happy to hear that there are more groups in town advocating and assisting in getting community gardens and people growing their own food in the city! Last year's meeting may have had rumor of it, but I showed up a day late (silly me).

There's a new campaign to make Syracuse a Very Green Place to live. Signs are calling it "The Emerald City". (Replacing "Home of The Orange" and "Salt City"? I think it's the Chittenango/Baum angle.)

meh.

I'll save my diatribe for the inside of my head. I'm happy that people are thinking about raising their own veggies and fruits for the joy of it, or to supplement their food budget. Planting pretty things is good for your state of mind and brings joy to others while you're at it. I drive through a less than pristine neighborhood on my way to work frequently, and there's one yard that always makes me smile. It's a dinky little thing enclosed with chain link fence, and in summer it's overflowing with sunflowers. You can't not cheer up at least for a second or three when you see that.

So we'll probably be getting a new thread soon, as this one's taking a while to load and whatnot. I'm off Wednesday and Friday this week. See you there!
