so what happens to the love bot?

I just realized I've never really thought of what happens to the love bot Lenore at the end of Serenity. Does the crew take her on board? Is she Jayne's new favorite toy? Will River and Kaylee work at reprogramming her to become a useful addition to the crew?
It doesn't seem right for them to just leave her there considering what she meant to Mr. Universe. I suppose they could have powered her down and buried her with him.
Still can we come up with some interesting reasons for her to be on Serenity after the movie?

"Can I keep her?"
"No."
It had been a rough handful of days for the surviving member's of the Serenity crew. Ironically they had all been saved by Alliance doctors, as well as given unlimited access to supplies by a man that had sworn to hunt them down. Since the misadventure, they had become a muted lot. Little was said, yet they all stayed clustered together as if fearful of being alone. Serenity's top level wasn't safe on account of several reaver harpoons that had breached the helm, bunks and galley. So everyone had migrated downstairs to the common area.
"Please?"
"Um, give me a moment... No.."
"But Maaaal."
Mal turned around, caught in mid limp on his way to the bathroom. There behind him was Jayne Cobb, looking like a child that had found a stray puppy he wanted to keep. Except it wasn't a puppy. "Jayne, I'd take it a kindness if you would stop your grousing cause I ain't in the mood to talk about this." The captain's tired eyes glanced around the room to do a sweep of his crew. Simon was lying on the couch with Kaylee, all manner of cuddlesome as he was the worst for wear and her coordination was slowly returning as the paralyzing dart had wrought havoc on her nervous system. Inara had been playing nurse for the two, getting them things, making sure they had the proper medication the Alliance doctors had ordered. She was at the moment though resting her own self in a chair, and subsequently shaking her head slowly at Jayne. River was on the floor, fiddling with some holo projectors, Zoe was in the cargo bay, walking amongst three caskets...
And Lenore the love bot was propped up against a wall near the infirmary.
She looked like a model, getting ready to give a tour. Though lifelike, Lenore was powered down, which made her creepifying as she was motionless and dull eyes, frozen in pose. Jayne had brought her into the common area to plead his case, she was his stray puppy. His silicon chipped, pleasure programmed, blond stray puppy.
"Come on Mal!" He gestured to Lenore, her hand raised and ready to wave hello once the power was flipped on. "I'll take good care of her."
Mal let out a heavy sigh of exasperation, gazing at his merc with quickly thinning patience.
"I'll make sure she's clean, I'll buy her nice clothes, make sure she's got her updates and anti-virus software, the whole works!" His voice dropped to a more considerate note. "Kaylee can even give her some new programming,"
Kaylee furrowed her brows and lifted her head at the sound of her name being associated with reprograming something.
"Lenore can work around here, help us out some, can have her wash the dishes or somethin'."
"Jayne." Kaylee sat up awkwardly, Simon eliciting a partially drugged out groan as she left her position on the couch, robbing him of body heat. "That thing's just a sex toy. Only way you can make it wash dishes is if ya overhaul the entire CPU, she's too basic otherwise."
"It would be a little awkward having her wash dishes." Inara could only imagine what Mr. Universe had used Lenore for and what had required the use of those synthetically skinned hands.
"Not entirely hygienic either." The doctor noted groggily, on the same track with the companion.
"Belongs with her soul mate." River announced in a tone so hushed it was barely heard.
Jayne huffed. "Why don't no one else wanna keep her?"
Everyone gazed at Jayne as if he had lobsters coming out of his ears, for the reasons were obvious.
Mal folded his arms against his chest. "See? The robot gets buried at the funeral..." He turned on his heel to go limp to the facilities.
"It ain't fair! Why's she gotta be buried with him? It's not like he's gonna be using her!"
Mal spun back around at Jayne's exclamation, his eyes blazing and lacking all forgiveness. But a few days ago he had lost three people, and what was left of his crew was a ragtag, rundown pile of humans that were just getting their feet out of the grave. His face grew rigid, and his eyes seared with the conviction of what he felt Mr. Universe deserve

TUJIAOZUO, fanfic or from the Serenity novelization? I think it would be really interesting to see a bot as a new addition to the crew after the movie. Joss gave buffybot some personality back when she was around. I could see him pulling off something similar with Lenore. Plus it would give us another character to lose without losing anymore of our core BDHs.
