Fringe - looks pretty good.

Surpised to see Pacey ( Joshua Jackson ) from Dawson's Creek is in it. Not so much that he's in it,but I've not seen him do much work, and I'd have expected him to be doing more. Hope it's a decent show.

I think Joshua has done stuff (Cursed and Shutter come to mind) but I don't think it has gotten much attention. Cursed was pretty rubbish and I haven't seen Shutter but the word is that it is crap.
The show itself is from JJ Abrams so I guess a lot of people will be expecting something decent from it as the guy is on a roll at the moment. That would be my main reason for watching. If his name wasn't involved then I would probably wait until I read what people were saying about it.
I hope it will be good and continue his good run.

Joshua Jackson was well-thought-of locally while he worked on 'the Creek'...
I never met him , but I did get to meet Katie Holmes several times , and I liked her , a lot...
She was very shy , modest , and seemed well-grounded...
The production company would sell off excess wardrobe items on occasion , and I bought stuff that was intended for VanDerBeek and Jackson , not because of the show , but because it was new clothing at prices below wholesale !
They had screen-used stuff , too , but it didn't interest me ; I preferred to get the new items and let the teenyboppers go ga-ga over the other bits...
Anyway , 'Pacey' did a film called 'The Skulls' , which was pretty danged good...
He also once rescued a girl from a fast-moving current , near a jetty that bordered an inlet , at a local beach , and became a bit more of a local hero for his effort...
I'm very much looking forward to 'Fringe' ; despite Abrams' imprimatur it seems very 'Joss' and Chris Carter , judging from the reviews and trailers...Not a bad combination...
Besides , the female lead seems quite fresh and hot...
I hope it lasts a good while , and have the same sort of hopes for Dollhouse...

They are playing it up like X-File and it does look like it. But the adds will play that up and seeing the first episode should be interesting. Cross your fingers and hope for the best.

I have the exact opposite reaction. I'm not going to watch because of how bad Alias and Lost were/are. They lay down the ground work for some really cool stuff but they never deliver. It's like J.J. needs to have a real writer follow him around and work with him on the explanations for his mysteries. Cause he's good at setting them up but not on explaining what was really going on.
So, I'm not going to watch this one. I don't need another long investment in a disappointing series.

Well, if they were aiming for X-Files, they hit it, IMHO. Beautifully done, with just the right deadpan humour to punctuate without overpowering.
And Chief the Spongebob-watching cow stole the show.
I'd call it a success; I'm officially interested in seeing more.

Plus...Anna Torv...Schwing !...Coolest TV blonde since Kathryn Morris hit 'Cold Case' !

Yeah it was pretty interesting. Combo between the major faceless corporate entity of Lost and the bizarre see it to believe it weirdness of the X-files. I'll keep watching.

I'm with you there. I never watched Alias. But I have no interest in the show after Lost.
