Those are some pretty pictures, but to compare them to those of Next Gen which was in the 1980s is unfair because these are enhanced with 21st century technology.

Well, you CAN compare them to the movies which had much bigger FX budgets & CGI for the later ones.

I took my son (8 at the time) to see the remastered episode "The Cage" on the big screen, no less. Beautiful. Unfortunately, my son was thoroughly disturbed by Captain Pike in the wheelchair and we had to leave.

You're right , Pike in the robotic wheelchair thingy still gives the boo-boo-jeebies...Always did...

The whole episode was morbid and creepifyin' , and the network originally criticized it for being " too cerebral ".

We got to see the Original Series blooper reel , too , which had all of us rolling in the aisles...

On the remastered enhanced TOS , I'm especially loving being able to look in the windows of NCC-1701 a bit , and seeing Matt Jefferies' vision of future flight with gloriously-coruscating warp nacelle domes...Makes it look like 'sciency' stuff goes on in there...

Saw 'The Galileo Seven' a couple times lately , and the spaceborne exteriors and tracking shots of the shuttle were FAB !

Great to know that a 40+ year-old show is still nicely warping young minds :
