Sorry to see him go. After they canned Firefly his show was the only thing I would watch on the Fux network.

It is very sad. I just can't believe that people still die of pnuemonia!

It was sad to hear about him. I didn't even know he was sick! He was so young and seemed so full of life. I watch The Bernie Mac Show when I can't fall asleep at night. He was great in the Ocean movies too.

This is a complete shock.

I loved his brand of humor and grew to love the man. This has been some year so far. I lost one of my childhood heroes to cancer, Bobby Murcer and now Bernie Mac.

May he rest in peace.

Very funny man. He will be missed in a time when we desperately need to laugh.

bernie will be missed by a lot of people and my thoughts go out to his family .It is sad when someone passes away before their time.

October 12th, 1985. Dog carcass in alley this morning, tire tread on burst stomach. This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown.

Meh. This makes me sad to no end. The good and funny folks seem to go first nowabouts.
Meh.

Within my bones this resonates
Boiling blood will circulate
Could you tell me again what you did this for?

“I don’t love you anymore” is all I remember you telling me
Never have I felt so cold
But I've no more blood to bleed
'Cause my heart has been draining into the sea

Still I wait

Yea, I revered Bobby as a kid. Hard for "The Evil Empire" thing to stick as long as the Yanks had someone like Bobby representing them.

It is sad to see such a talented man as Bernie Mac leave us.
For me Comedy is one of the greatest weapons in battling through the daily grind and now this world is just a little less funny.

(raises glass in the air) To Bernie Mac, A damn fine comedian! May we always remember how you made us laugh!

Agreed. Bobby was one of the true gentleman of sports period. And for the Yankees he represented all that was good about the organization and baseball.

Watching Yankee games will not be the same from now on. BTW his wife did not make it to Oldtimers' Day at the Stadium. The wives of players who had passed were invited for the final OTD at the House that Ruth Built. No reason was given. My guess is she just couldn't cope with being there without him.

'Nuff said. May he rest in peace!

I loved Bernie Mac's show. He would get so angry at the kids. It was kind of like Leave It to Beaver with attitude. Watching them plot their schemes and get foiled.

Like Leave it to Beaver with a touch of George Burns. I used to love it when he'd talk directly to the camera: "Come on America, you know I'm right...."

Bye Bernie

He'd just finished making the upcoming movie Soul Men. Oddly enough, it features a cameo by Isaac Hayes (who wrote the song "Soul Man") - who also died over the weekend.

Very sad news indeed. :(
