I've been into the Winnipeg Fringe Festival for a long time, and it's on again at the moment...it started last week, and continues until Sunday.
While planning to go this past Saturday, fellow Browncoat Jamie Newransky (she of the Browncoat Saloon, and X.G. on some Firefly boards) pointed out that Sherlock Holmes and the Speckled Band, written by Alan Fehr and starring him and Ashley Toewes, had the following discount listed:
Browncoats (must show “Firefly” merch): $5
Excited about this, I went to the trouble of digging out a Serenity button for Jamie to flash when we bought our tickets to Saturday's noon performance (more for the cred than the discount, really)...only to discover that a) the ticket-sellers had no clue what the discount referred to, and 2) as a matinée, all the tickets were already entitled to the same discount.
Oh well...
For the curious, here is the full write-up for the show in the Fringe's program book:
For the more curious, here is the website for the theatre company in question, the Space Warrior Players, from Pinawa, Manitoba:

It's nice to discover even more Browncoats around here in unexpected places...and I hope our schooling of the Front-of-House volunteers had a positive effect.
