Mornin' stats VOMP!

Buffy and Angel posted great numbers, yesterday, with Angel actually tying Jericho! Firefly has also enjoyed a burst of votes. We need to keep this up for a few more weeks, folks! Dark Shadows went offroad, leaving Highway to Heaven behind; now the Barnabas Browncoats are headin' out on a Star Trek (Original Series), possibly their last pass of the Poll. Babylon 5 will pass La Femme Nikita (a fine show) tomorrow, to become lucky #13 in the Poll.

Firefly is still AHEAD of schedule!

(Statistics in parentheses are previous day's stats, for comparison purposes)

Based on RL's announcement that he will end the Polls when the combined total votes between the Top 40 and the Nominations reaches 10 million (but no later than January 2, 2009), 37.29 (36.19) days remain to vote, based on current rates of voting (as with everything else in this Poll, this time will fluctuate).

Let's talk about Firefly's TV Vote goals and achievements, for a moment:

1. We've been the #1 show in the Poll since August 17th, 2007, when we passed Xena. We had tremendous numbers, in those days, with daily totals in the 1,500s and up. No one will pass us in TV Vote.

2. Our ultimate goal, 750,000 votes, is 39,472 (40,768) votes, and 30.46 (29.18) days away! We're on-target, and need to maintain a daily average of 1,097 (1,102) votes to stay on track.

3. Firefly has had the top daily score every day since Sunday, April 29, 2007, when Xena beat us by 160 votes, something no other show has accomplished EVER SINCE! It is worth noting that on Saturday, July 6, Firefly got 976 votes, while Moonlight got 968, a difference of only 8 votes. Especially in light of the fact that Nominee shows which enter the Top 40 invariably get a boost in daily votes, we need to work hard to keep our daily totals ahead of the hard-charging Moonlight voters, even if they are our friends! Let's use this as an incentive to vote harder for Firefly, especially on the weekends, when we are most vulnerable to a pass!

4. Firefly holds the record for consecutive days at 1,000+ daily votes, 75, cut short only by the Lexx autovote scandal last October, which shut down the Poll for about a week.

5. Firefly is 169,770 (168,994) votes ahead of Xena, more than the vote total of #17 show Laramie 166,574. That puts us at 5,230 (6,006) votes away from a 175,000 vote lead, about 6.74 (7.11) days, based on current voting. Surprisingly, we do not hold the highest lead of a show over its closest competition. That distinction currently belongs to Bonanaza, with a lead of 173,466 (173,324) over Gunsmoke. We'll soon have that tied up.

6. Firefly's share of the Top 40 voting pie remains at 9%. Again, this unique achievement is essentially unassailable, but until recently, our percentage had been slipping. Let's keep the votes up, and our share of the pie!

7. The one record which has eluded us is most votes in a single day. Xena holds that record, dating back to March 30, 2007: 2,803. Firefly topped out on March 7, 2007: 2,359. We could still beat Xena's total, but it would take better than doubling our current best daily vote totals to do it. It's still worth thinking about!

Let's keep up the hard burn, show everyone our Browncoat Fan Power, maintain our records, and clinch our final milestone!

ALL three links work for voting, so if you have trouble, you can try an alternate address instead.

You can vote for more as many Top 40 shows as you like, once every hour. You can only nominate one show per hour, at:

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/nominations.html

Download the FlyVote voting timer, a NEW version of the program. It'll remind you when it's time to vote, each hour: http://usbmicro.com/misc

Votes are counted per network IP, so, don't go to the library or your office and vote hourly on each computer on the subnet, or all votes will be thrown out; multiple votes on rotating IPs will likewise be rejected.
