it's late in the day and I ain't been on the court yet
hustle to the mall to get me a short set
yeah I got on sneaks but I need a new pair
cause basketball courts in the summer got girls there
the temperature's about 88
hop in the water plug just for old times sake
break to ya crib change your clothes once more
cause you're invited to a barbeque that's starting at 4
sitting with your friends cause y'all remincise
about the days growing up and the first person you kiss
and as I think back makes me wonder how
the smell from a grill could spark up nostalgia
all the kids playing out front
little boys messin round with the girls playing double-dutch
while the DJ's spinning a tune as the old folks dance at your family reunion
then six o'clock rolls around
you just finished wiping your car down
it's time to cruise so you head to the summertime hangout
it looks like a car show

*sips her smoothie* Thanks, sweetie. Is there any ice cream?? I could use some cookie dough ice cream about now. With strawberries. And maybe cinnamon. The new best thing in the world (imo) is the cinnamon ice cream at Cold Stone, mixed up with chocolate and strawberries and maybe some cookie dough... Yeah, you should see the looks I get, but it really is wonderful.

Oh, and the M&M ice cream bar tastes like every other ice cream bar dipped in chocolate out there, it just looks like a big M&M.

Do you like peanut butter? I got this crazy peanut butter with Summatran cinnamon and raisins recently. It is like a drug. I ate the whole jar in about a week. With a spoon. AHmazingly yummy.

Fresh peach icecream made by the spouse. Nom nom nom.

We had a lovely party on Saturday. People ate and ate and drank and drank, and we still ended up with a net gain in food and booze.

If I throw a party every week I'll never have to buy groceries again!!

Oh, if anybody wants to come over in the next day or so and pick black raspberries until your arms fall off it's OK with me. There's a bumper crop and I'm trying not to cry over just not being able to keep up with them. They'll be past in under a week, not to be seen again until next year.

..except, you know, the ones I freeze and stuff...

Barkeep! Something tall and frosty to ward off the threat of 96F weather tomorrow if you please!

I'm tossing a vat of mango salsa and blue corn chips on the bar for any interested parties.

The brand is pb loco. You can find a store that carries it, or you can order directly online. It was like, 8 bucks a jar, which I would normally scoff at, except it's worth every penny.

Yeah, bu peanut butter doesn't tend to eat quite as easily as ice cream. It's stickier to throat and stomach. I adore the stuff, but I certainly couldn't eat a jar in a day the way I could with ice cream (which I totally can, and that's why I don't tend to buy much ice cream)

Mostly I'm just putting in the placement hours and putting in the rent-paying hours, have been since winter really =( well I lie, I was going out with someone for a few months, but it didn't work out. Closest I get to excitement is webcomics and going for a run when I have energy

I'm also in a good mood for a change! I have a flat of my very own!

I just paid the deposit this morning (making my bank account turn red and growly) and will soon be moving out from parents and actually pretend to be an adult! It would have been just too depressing to turn 30 and still be living with parents. So now I have a cute little one person flat just 10 minute drive from work.I'm so chuffed!

Actually I used to be terrified of spiders but I got over it (mostly) and can now handle the tarantulas without the students ever guessing that I'm a gibbering wreck!

Hey guys. Tell me, how long are hangovers supposed to last when you only got medium drunk the night before?! I had 7 shots of Archers. That's not excessive is it?? My head hates me today and had done for 6 hours.

Still I managed to get through my staff yearly appraisal without any problems. That woman must hate me. She set up my appraisal for 8:30 the morning after a staff leaving do!

7 units would make you feel bad, it's the start of what is officially a binge for womem (10 for men) and about half of your maximum for a week!

I suppose it was a little bit of a binge but considering my weekly average is 1 unit,if that,I don't think I'll be enlisting to AA just yet!

Unlike my colleague who I had to carry home and leave cuddling the toilet. Not a fun end to the evening I would say. The students also drink as if the world is about to end, and it nearly does for some of them.

Hmm, I have absolutely no motivation this afternoon!

So, what else is new?!

well, happily transferring tonights rough demos onto my computer so vocalist can write lyrics for the new song and so I can listen to the kick ass drum solo I've stuck in another.

Also playing with names and design concepts, must speak to graphics teacher sister and her graphics designer boyf to turn following into cool visuals and bar code type stuff

HUSG HK well not alright per se, but as he's a 19 year old with the mind of a toddler...not much can be done. Today was even more fun( sarcasm alert) Charming child spent the majority of the day attempting to turn a large oak table over on me and kicking at me...only one more week of this thank god:)

Yes terribly long...and he has been taught for many years, problem is the hitting ect is basically the equivalent of a toddler tantrum so even if a toddler knows not to hit, in the midst of tantrum, they forget... sigh. Yeah my patience is decent..but then again so is yours ( I don't knwo how you've resisted shooting those people.)

Hang in there MsB, think of it as karmic payback for how much happy you have right now. You get to try to spread it around to someone who sounds like they don't have nuch to be happy about.

I am in awe though. I have yet to enoucounter any kid that bad (yet?!) but I'm not sure how I'd cope. Have you had special training? Or perhaps body armour?!

Looks like I've missed some shiney people in the bar today. I was busy doing not very much on holiday!
I've just watched I am Legend and am now scared to go to sleep.

I have a zombie phobia. Especially fast ones! They're supposed to shamble, dammit! Even then they give me nightmares!

Thanks... got a nice evening with a fabulous man and I made homemade fajitas so that was fun...not as much sleep as I wanted, but we've loads to do today...I'll sleep next week or something

I'm having a frustrating weekend. Can't settle to anything, even some honest to goodness vedging!

I have all sorts of creative projects I could be doing but after 5 minutes I get up and start to wander aimlessly again.

Sigh.

I know what it is! I'm going insane from the start of Dr. Who withdrawal! Oh dear, have to wait till Christmas for more! I'll be a gonner by then!

I'll take one of those snow cones if they're going! I'm a big garlic fan! We can form the stinky corner!

oh. my. god.

busiest. weekend. ever.

friday came back from school, went out with mom, went to the mall (bday search), came back and promptly went to sarah's house.

saturday got up early, got dressed up, went to cousin's wedding, then the reception, finally left at four. got home, changed, wrapped brett's present, went to brett's house for the party. stayed there till midnight eating, playing video games, watching super troopers.

sunday, parents got up WAY too early, pounded on *yours truly's* door so we could get down to the beach to secure a picnic table in the shade (mind you, my cousin erik was already there by the time we got there, so table was already secured, a tired Cat was not happy), went to beach, hung out for a long ass time. we just got home from that like an hour ago (530-ish).

all i can say is, holy crap.

so, how was everyone else's weekend?

My weekend was busy but fun... Hellboy 2 rocked!

Today however... my job as human punching bag continues. The kid attemepted with all his strength to flip a large oak table over on me in excess of 50 times, signed that he needed a drink, then dumped it on me and got my cell wet so it may be ruined...and all by 1 pm.... and it's only Monday.

Maybe I should run a betting pool to see what day and time he seriously injures me
