GORRAM ... it won't take the formatting from MS Word ...

I founda way to xfer the docs to my Clie peg-nz90 and BOY is it eaiser to edit it and format ...

BUT !!!! Oh well ...

... till I can FIX this ... enjoy it as much as you can!

NISKA re-awakens a bit more lucid this time

TO ANYONE IN THE ROOM

MAL LISTENS TO NISKA TALK. GETS IMPATIENT AND WHILE STILL HOLDING THE SCALPEL, MOVES ON NISKA AND HOLDS SCALPEL TO HIS THROAT.

TO NISKA:
"Chur ni-duh! Think yer forgettin' where you are, ta ma duh!"
HEARS ALARM CLAXON GO OFF.
TO ZOE
:"I'll be down here in the Infirmary. Give me a holler on the 'com if ya need me!"
LOOKS AT KAYLEE
"Xiao mei-mei, how're repairs going? Do we have our engines back yet?"

WHILE MAL IS TALKING TO KAYLEE, HE TAKES OFF HIS LONG-SLEEVED SHIRT AND GIVES IT TO INARA. HE STILL HAS ON A WHITE TANK-TOP UNDERSHIRT ON.

NISKA
"Very well, Captain Reynolds. I shall enjoy hearing your screems as the REAVERS tear at your flesh."
LAUGHS MANIACALLY

scene missing

AFTER ALL OF THE MINOR REPAIRS AND DISPENSING OF MEDS, SIMON SITS ON THE COUNTER AS A SPATE OF DIZZINESS CREEPS UP AND BEGINS TO OVERCOME HIM. HE SHAKES HIS HEAD IN AN ATTEMPT TO CLEAR IT THEN AND REACHES FOR THE INTERCOM.

SIMON
"Captain, I think it would be best if I got a blood and other samples from Niska so I can prepare an effective anaesthetic. I have a feeling that fay-fay duh pee-yen has built up resistances to normal methods."

WAITING FOR MAL'S REPLY, RIVER STROLLS IN AS JAYNE COMMS THE CAPTAIN.

"Mei mei, where have you ..."

SIMON TRIES TO LISTEN TO BOTH RIVER AND JAYNE, BUT FAILS MISERBLY

"Jayne, just bring Niska down here so I can 'examine' him and get some samples."

LOOKS TO DOOR TO SEE THAT RIVER HAS FLED

CUT TO JAYNE'S BUNK
JAYNE GRABS NISKA BY THE LEGS AND HAULS HIM UP THE LADDER, MAKING SURE TO BUMP NISKA'S HEAD AGAINST EVERY RUNG, THEN PROCEEDS TO AGAIN DRAG HIM ACROSS THE DECK PLATING BUMPING AND BANGING UNTIL HE TOSSES HIM INTO THE INFIRMARY. JAYNE THEN PULLS OUT A RATHER LARGE AND WICKED LOOKING KNIFE

"Hey Doc, 'afore you go an' get that there blood sample, you want me ta' fetch ya' a skin sample?"

A LARGE GRIN SPLAYS ACROSS JAYNE'S FACE...

BOOK ARRIVES UNSEEN AT THE INFIRMARY, NOTICING THE GLINT FROM A KNIFE AND THE HUNCH TO JAYNE'S SHOULDERS THAT INDICATES HE'S READY TO DO SOME HARM, BOOK SPEAKS QUIETLY FROM THE DOOR.

"I can't think of a single person who deserves it more than Niska, but if we torture him, we'll be sitting on the same level of Hell with him for all eternity. ...and I don't much like his company."

SCENE MISSING

SIMON STANDS BETWEEN JAYNE AND NISKA BUT STILL LOOKS TOWARDS WHERE RIVER HAS DISAPPEARED

BEGINS TO TIE NISKA DOWN AND INSURE THAT THERE ARE NO SHARP IMPLIMENTS WITHIN REACH OF THE TABLE. GOING SO FAR AS TO EMPTY ANY DRAWERS OR POCKETS

"As for the rest of you, it would be best if I did this alone."

SIMON'S EYES HAVE A HARD GLINT IN THEM

"So get out of my infirmary. Captain, as soon as he is ready, I'll let you know."

HE COMMS INARA, HIS HARD EXPRESSION SOFTENING

"Inara, could you please look after River for me?"

NODS AT INARA'S RESPONSE AND TURNS BACK TO NISKA,TIGHTENS STRAPS AND ROPES AND BEGINS TO DRAW SAMPLES

Well, that was interesting and easier to read. Perhaps we need to work on in from the beginning sometime.

That was an absolutely fantabulous rendition, Capn! I very much enjoyed reading it. You put the whole infirmary scene into great detail. That must have taken you some time.
Much appreciation is flowing from the font of maniac. Step right up and take a long drink, you are most deserving.
