Oooh SQUEEEE Magda. I do know where you want to be and I hope you get there soon as possible. Sadly D*C is 71 days away...sigh
Ooh good recipe Anjl I can totally see it with fresh tomato,( or sundried) seared lamb, calamata lives, and feta cheese then maybe sprinkled with chopped fresh basil and oregano after baking
HUGS Em I have to say ignoring is the best way to go unless it is physical violence. "Cause it's no fun to tease someone who doesn't give a rats ass I teach my students to respond to verbal provocation with a bland face and a deadpan " good to know" and then just walk away without looking back
Ok they delivered our sod at 6 am this morning and NV and I just spent 3 hours laying sod in the front, side, and backyard... wow on the manual labor thing. Luckily NV is awesomely strong so that made things tons easier. We have lawn:) ( though NV now has to go to work...:(

Everything comes with a price though. I think most of that maturity came from when my parents got divorced. I was 7 at the time and had to move to a totally new state. It brought such wonderful experiences as a 4 hour plane ride by myself. Single parent meant me and my brother had to fend for ourselves a lot of nights and stuff. So, trade one childhood trauma for another really.

'Afternoon folks!
Still alive and kickin' (although I'm not doing all that much work out this point).

HUGS Zeek...yeah nothing sucks more than a 7 year old grown up. Hey I figure ( based on my own experience) once you've lived through hell...not much really gets to you.
HUGS
NV I'm surprised you've not lapsed into a protective coma...

Manual labour very bad...Can't even do light labour at moment. I have managed to pop a rib out up under my shoulder-blade (?!)- putting it back in was immense fun.
I feel rather like that Nordic goddess of the Underworld, Hel - the whole left side of my body is crap; broken and rehealed oddly, dislocated, muscles connected wrong, just rubbish.
Plus side...I have a kitchen. Only I'm too broken to be able to heave all my heavy pans into it.

Doing okay. Got myself a Route 44 (giganto size) Diet Cherry Limeaid from Sonic on my way in. Listening to Dresden, trying not to doze...

Woo, got me internets back up, and with the help of some of my awesome friends from school, the crisis in which i screwed up (or thought I screwed up) my roommate's computer/internet has been more or less resolved. Yay. So life is better now.
Internship first day was grand, although orientation-y and dull in a way. But I'm looking forward to work tomorrow. yay. stuff to do and a place to do it and all that good stuff. Shall be glorious.
And it turns out I may well be going to Comic-Con, ironically enough. Which is exciting, i've never been to a proper convention. No BDH guests or anything, but still, twill be fun, and as long as I work at the Cartoon Network booth for a bit, they pay for teh hotel. Woo. Internship coolness. So that'll be cool, mehopes.
Childhood stuff to relive? Uh.... cant think of much, i tend to progressively get happier that i'm not in the past as time goes on, so there's that, although I do miss the theater days in high school already. Yeah that's about the only part i'd actually WANT to relive. That and my childhood friend who moved to switzerland nine years back. Yeah, gotta have pasts n' all that.
Argh, i need to get myself a chair, this wall is not good for back support.

I am going to bed folks, but I remembered my promise to myself to check in here every day! I am so thrilled to see old friends in here, Hey Whitefall! I am so excited for you that you got the internship! Wooo Hooo! Hugs Honey!
It's just lovely to see folk like SpaceAngel (yeah I know - but you'll always be my 'Space Angel' to me! Remember!) and Emma, and Gee, and NVG & my own Li'l sis, MsB... some of you I talk with all the time, but there's so many of you I miss!
I agree with what's been said about bullying, BTW... I was bullied ("gee, really? You mean you were the weird kid who marched to the beat of your own drum, Magda? That sounds so unlikely... NOT!") Intelectually I knew it was their problem and not mine, and I used to try very hard to not let them see how much it hurt me... but I think the scars are still there at times. I later realised that I was bullied by one of my teachers, though I don't remember properly being aware of it at the time... it's hard to stand up to someone who sends you out of the room, then tells the rest of the class that if they want to be my friend they will get the same treatment I do from her... There are still days when I wonder what I would say to that teacher if I saw her today... I probably would ask her if her life is happier now? I would tell her I pity her for being so weak as to have to bully a 10 year old who trusted her and looked up to her. I would tell her that no matter how bad things get in her life, it is nothing compared to the complete helplessness of a 10 year old who can't seem to make friends and is miserable and lonely and doesn't even realise that she is the victim of bullying.
Then I would look her in the eye and tell her, with complete honesty, that I forgive her. I do, because it says more about how she felt complete lack of control of her life at the time than what it said about me!
I am stronger than that!
But no, I wouldn't go back to those days for all the money in the world!
Goodnight all! Love you and will keep popping in here as I am able!

What kind or horrible evil wretched excuse for a harpie says things like that???? I want her mangled ( yes I have a huge problem with bad teachers... far as I am concerned there is nothing worse than a bad teacher) HUGS and sleep well my wonderful big sis..

Anjl oh sweety rest and heal. I am really happy you have a kitchen but you definitely need to rest

I have to agree with Whitefall on the things getting progressively better over time. It feels good, no, great.
More hugs for Mags and some for Anjl too.
The ice is all melty but it is still good. A drive for one might be good.
