According to wunderground, there will be a teensy bit of relief from the dry Santa Ana winds for 6 hours starting this evening around 1800 and lasting until around 0000, but except for that, it's gonna be persistent dry NE (from the desert) Santa Ana winds until Thursday about 1800. That's in our area.
I should check the Brentwood and Palisades area. With any luck, the winds will turn the fire around and send it over already burnt area.
I actually saw that happen with a different fire from my workplace. We could see this giant fire ... pyrocumulous clouds and huge billows of black smoke ... storming southward, up the backside of the San Gabriels and over the peaks, being pushed south, downslope to the populated foothills... when the wind suddenly, and literally, did a 180. After that, fire suppression was all about killing the (many) hot spots. IIRC that was the Curve Fire.
