Would the Bryan Singer or Hatch Battlestar be better

cancellation before it ever aired ? It looked a good idea but I don't think any studio will support it

Hatch should have been given this show- his love for it would have made it great.

Just because he's loves it, doesn't mean he would have made a great show out of it. Based on the novels he wrote, I wouldn't bet on him. He's a decent actor, but as a writer he's predictable and un-imaginative.

I would have been cautiously interested to see how Singer would have handled it. He did fine with the X-Men franchise, but his bikini clad Superman left much to be desired. Ho Hum!

I'd given some thought to movin' off the edge -- not an ideal location -- thinkin' a place in the middle.

Before Eick, Rymer and Moore sold the world a reimagined BSG there were 3 or 4 other major players in the battlestar re-launch

Director Bryan Singer and producer Tom DeSanto

Of all these the Singer/DeSanto version was the most professional and might have produced the biggest success but the Singer/DeSanto continuation story was never to be and yet you can still find plot details and production photos all across the net. Actress Anne Lockhart was going to be reprising her role as ace-fighter pilot Sheba. Many old school fans got behind the Singer production and accuse Moore and Eick of ripping off the Singer/DeSanto scripts. Alleging they were ripping off Singer for the first two seasons of BSG.

I've found it difficult to discover details on Glen Larson's re-launch. Maybe it would be a great show or perhaps a suckfest like the flying motorcycles in Galactica1980. With KightRider re-launched recently I don't think BSG was on Glen Larson's top priorities, but I'm sure he doesn't mind collecting royalty paychecks from these creations.

Hatch was probably the most passionate of all people on BSG, he spent big money all by himself trying to get the show re-lauched and was a very strong critic of the new show accusing Ron Moore of stealing his thunder. Hatch wanted another dark continuation featuring aliens and cameos from actors in the old show. The failure of the Singer-and-DeSanto project was also particularly heartbreaking for Hatch. Moore followed Hatch to one of his oldschool club hideouts offering Hatch a role as actor in the new show. He took the job offered him by Moore and stopped criticizing the reimagined show.

" "I haven't read Tom's script (which was written by a team of writers from what I recall)," Moore said. "From what I've gathered from the message boards, I'm struck by many of the similarities. In essence, we're both retelling the pilot. Also, he had Galactica being retired as well, which kinda sucks since I was sort of proud of that notion being my own.""
In the Singer-DeSanto continuation Apollo was to show up near the end of that series' pilot as a kind of "Borg-ified" Cylon.

I'm perfectly happy with the one we got.

But if I were to pick, I'd prefer the Singer version.

I saw the promo/trailer Richard Hatch put together (at DragonCon 2007). The graphics and acting were OK (similar to the original Battlestar), the characters seemed interesting, but the dialogue was cliche'd and predictable.

I don't know about the other two revival plans, but I'm also pleased with the new BSG.

I'm very happy with the BSG we got. Hooked on it is the more proper term.
