As far as I know FF never came on german TV. But at least we got a very good DVD Edition with good, famous voice actors...(I also watched the DVDs in english, but it's quite good in german)
RTL has had the rights to show FF on German television for YEARS, but apparently they don't plan on doing so.
I strongly oppose your oppinion that FF is "quite good in German". In fact, it has the worst translation of any show I ever saw. I cringed almost through the whole thing - almost all of the dialogue is just translated in a way that the practical meaning is preserved while the wit (Joss's trademark!) is totally neglected, and sometimes even the very point is missing. The translation is TERRIBLE. Plus Mal is voiced by the same actor who does Spike on Buffy. Watching my favorite series in German really, really pissed me off.
Buffy and Angel share the same fate, but they really screwed up big time with FF.
As for "we never get to see the stars"... I had the borrowed DVD set on my shelf for MONTHS before I finally decided to watch it, got instantly hooked and then found out that a few WEEKS before that, Joss, Nathan and - sigh - Summer had been attending the German premiere of Serenity RIGHT HERE IN HAMBURG. As the German saying goes, I could have bitten myself in the ass ("I regretted my own stupidity" for all you non-Krauts.
) when I realized I could have been there had I watched the series a bit earlier.Oh, and WELCOME, newbies!
Don't worry, you'll feel right at home here.

Welcome to the site Scarecrow. Glad to have you here posting with us.
Keep watching the discs. The show is the best sci fi show I have ever seen and is why I felt compelled to sign up here years ago.
Be sure to share it with friends.

RTL don't know what they got here

At the moment I live in Göttingen (Niedersachsen = Lower Saxony), but will be relocating to another town. I'm looking for a job. Job applications are on the move :-).
