'Safe' episodes to watch

i think it would make it easier to decide what was "safe" to watch if you considered what that relative usually does and doesn't watch on TV.
it's kind of funny that what most people here suggest is avoiding the episodes with nudity in order to respect that person's religious sensitivity. at the same time they see nothing wrong with showing the same person episodes that depict or mention murder, GBH, cannibalism, theft, burglary, smuggling, prostitution (even without showing nudity Inara herself is problematic?), blasphemy (bible's broken)...
those are things that a religious person should normally object to in a film or on TV, but all people worry about is the nudity. strange

Would it be wrong to suggest the "tied to a chair with eyelids taped open" route?

Watching a decent script delivered by a decent cast can't be anything but entirely decent.

And surely, wasn't the Bible in "Our Mrs Reynolds" described as Good?

So what if it's got a bit of an edge to it? It won't kill you and you won't go to the Bad Fire for watching it.

I've been to America and seen bits of some real whacko holy TV Channels. Utterly fascinating, but you'd never want to actually watch them in cold blood.

I don't object to the preachiness (that is, after all, Its Job), but the whole experience was like drinking a gallon of warm milk with some cornflour stirred into it.

Well the OP mentioned a sex scene as a problem. So, I sorta focused on things like that. There's plenty of violence to worry about too. It's not a G rated show. It doesn't matter if the overall message is good or not. Some people just don't like sex and violence in their TV. I don't see why we should judge them for it.

I don't want to judge people as such, i am just wondering why especially Americans worry so much about TV scenes that potentially beget people more than about scenes that potentially kill them.
