'Cause ya see, all the ANIMATION in I Am Legend made me feel like I was watchin' the Loony Toons or something. A terrific performance from Will Smith wasted in a flick with a lacking script & 'toons from hell.
And how are these 'infected' four times stronger that regular humans? I mean, sick with virus...HELLO!!
Anyway, I SAW 28 Days Later, already.
Man, The Omega Man was WAAAAAY better, IMO.

I kinda understand his idea of keeping the infected alive with the hope of curing them but really, only one line of Claymores around the perimeter of the house. And the house was that, just a house with heavy shutters. At least have an armored vehicle backed up to the rear of the house for evac or something.

Gots mad skillz, loves playing with matches.

Overall, I admit, I liked the movie.
The biggest problem i had was at the end. I'll put it in spoiler tags to be safe:

So they get the blood from the "cured" one. Great! Now what? How the hell are they supposed to get it to all of the infected. Not to mention the cure had to be given to that one slowly in IV fluids, so she wouldn't die. Are they planning to capture all of them to sedate and treat?

I liked Legend, and I think Will Smith is a good actor, but we're talking Fresh Prince verses Moses. It just doesn't seem like a fair comparison. My love of Charlton Heston would make me deny it, even if Legend was better, which it is not.

And finally, there is the official thread from a long time ago. You may, if you're so inclined, read my review.

Quote:Good review, Finn, I had forgotten about it, since I was planning to see it on DVD. But what I highlighted is what destroyed the movie for me- and I TRIED to like it...but bad lookin' infected + having them not talk, but able to rig up a trap?

"One really incredible thing about this movie is the post-apocalyptic images of New York, which are nothing short of amazing - far, far, far more realistic then anything seen in the Omega Man and much more realistic then I expected. Three years of abandonment has left a desolate New York that is well on its way to being reclaimed by nature with cracked streets covered in foliage forcing its way through. While the stunning landscapes may be a testament to how far CGI has come, the CGI monsters are a testament to how far they have yet to go. The monsters were frightening, but they looked more like something out of a video game then anything real."
In Omega Man they were mad, but there was thinking behind it, also, they were less dangerous to Neville in OM, yet he was so much more well-prepared than Will's newer version in the face of an Orc-level attack...
On the whole, the script is what makes the difference for me, OM's being the superior one IMO.
We'll never see a perfect version though Chrisisall
