Fox executives like the creative product and thought the finale's performance last week was solid. The network also spent a considerable amount marketing the show, giving Season 2 some cost benefit. Also: The fourth "Terminator" movie comes out in 2009, and as "The Simpsons Movie" proved, there are promotional advantages to film-TV synergy.

A month ago , things looked much different..The F-network made a strategic error by not airing TTSCC after the
Super Bowl , putting Dr. 'House' in that slot instead...

Viewership of Terminator via the network has been respectable , though not as strong as the network would like...

As an example , viewership of recent airings of TTSCC has been around 8 million , but that looks weak next to
American Idol , with about 29 million votes being cast for a given airing...

Sarah Connor's most recent 4 episodes are available via the smooth-playing Hulu , as are episodes of NEW AMSTERDAM (Amster's is nice !), Bionic Woman , Bones , House MD , and other fan-favorites...

The entire series of Firefly is there , as is the Joss-written ' Titan:A.E.' movie...

Yeah, it's a good movie. I think Joss did it around the time he was coming up with the ideas for Firefly. The whole humanity after earth idea was probably sparked while working on the script.

Anyway, good news for T:TSCC. Hopefully this show finds its own and the charisma between the cast begins to grow. It's by no means even half as good as Firefly but with time it could become a great show. A little better writing probably wouldn't hurt either... but it's Fox and they don't appreciate intelligent, witty dialog there.

According to TV Guide's Michael Ausiello, things are looking up for fans of the recent Fox show, "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles."

"It looks like she'll be back," he said.

Ausiello states that the producers have been told they can begin lining up directors for the first trio of episodes of Season 2.

"While this is no guarantee that SCC is returning , it's obviously a very good sign," Ausiello said.

Of course, Fox continues to deny any progress has been made. "No decision about a second season has been made yet," said a spokesperson for the network.
