Watched New Amsterdam and it did feel like Angel.
Don't see how this guy could have all these high profile jobs and know one notices. He actually has to tell people and maybe that is how it works.
They think it is his ego and don't go past that.

Then I watched Eli Stone. This show is a sleeper. Try it out. It sort of reminds me of Medium. The first episode I saw was last night so I was lucky they gave you the details of what is going on with him. Maybe this was the first episode.

So both these shows may not last long. Everyone raise their hands who have heard of Eli Stone.

The commercials made it look kinda stupid. But I watched the first episode by accident and loved it.
It has much deeper subject matter than the commercials would suggest.

OOo..I DO like his partner...I think she has a sweetness about her...Skepticism , a little cynicism , and a LOT of sweetness...

She was in X-Files a time or two...And she was also in that horsey movie with Viggo , where she really looked exotic...

Her name is Zuleikha Robinson...I think she may have been born in the UK , but not sure...Will have to IMDB later , 'cause the name of that thing with Viggo is right on the tip of my brain , but it's escaping me at the moment...Might've been 'Hidalgo'...Yeah , that might be it...

I really am liking this show...It feels oddly comfortable , with the Mal-ish title character , and the historical flashbacks...The Civil War 'Antietam' vignette really sealed the deal...

And the music is uni-Verse-ally wonderful...Even the opening theme tune kinda takes me back to memories of that lovely show about the space ship with the oddly-bright hiney...

EDIT: One more thing , if anybody has missed eps , they can catch up at the F*><-On-Demand site , just open the page and operate the 'waterwheel' on the left until 'New Amsterdam' comes up , then click on it to select the show's page...
Amsters' is nice...

So far I am really digging New Amsterdam. I think they are doing a pretty good job of portraying how a person who was turned immortal would behave.

I am watching Eli Stone, but more because my wife likes it and I can tolerate it. I like Eli and his interactions with his brother and potential father in-law. On the other hand, I think the secretary and the intern lawyer are two of the least funny characters on tv. I think they feel the need to put whimsical harp music behind them whenever they speak to brainwash people into laughing at their horrible lines. I think the cases are terribly cliche, overly simplistic, and shallow. I kind of like how the musical numbers are giving him guidance while you still have to try to figure out what they mean, but I found the idea was MUCH better implemented in Wonderfalls. I like to call Eli Stone a poor man's (if not broke man's) Wonderfalls.

Checked out the Firefly episodes available online at Hulu...

The player works very smoothly , even when bumped up to fullscreen mode...

New Amsterdam is available at Hulu , with all the aired episodes selectable , as are the last 4 eps of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles , plus a couple of interesting clips...

Saw the 'Honor' episode tonight on the computer. Fox has a nice player which gives a clear, smooth picture. It's no big deal for me to miss an episode or 2 on t.v.

As for the series itself, I'm thinking more and more that this compares to John Doe than Angel. But unlike Doe, it's the viewer who is left to discover the untold parts of Amsterdams life. We know the circumstances that lead up to his unique life, and , if this plays out as it seems, we'll see him transform from immortal to mortal before too long. Which leads me to wonder - " now what?" .

I've been following Eli Stone faithfully since the pilot. Love that show. Reminds me of a cross between Early Edition and Wonderfalls.

Also love New Amsterdam. I am out of the country and can only watch via iTunes. But I fork out my $2/episode every week. Reminds me a lot of Highlander. It is a cool twist though that he can have children. None of the other shows seems to allow their immortals the ability to procreate.

Also trying out Canterbury's Law, but it's a bit too sad for me to watch.

Almost forgot about "Eatly Edition". I miss that show. The antics that poor soul went through to prevent catastrophies. Loved it.

I am continuing to watch New Amsterdamn, but they need to break away from from the same plot. The last episode was not much different then the last one I saw. Got to throw twists into it or it will get predictable. But the acting and idea are good. Just need to tweak up the writing.
