Can anyone explain to me how it is that my crew of a dozen, is giving Firefly about 80 votes a day, but Firefly fans are giving us 9 or 10 out of the roughly 1000 cast for your show every day?????
Somehow that doesn't seem right.

Well, lessee... Awareness, and, inclination. Awareness, as in, of the couple hundred folks worldwide who vote for Firefly, how many do you think follow this thread, to know they oughtta be noming Surface?
Inclination, as in, how many Surface voters do you think actually also vote Firefly, or, feel any real need to?
Sad truth is, you can't reach everyone with the message about a friendly exchange of help. That's why I've never liked "vote trades," where quid pro quo is mandated, so, feelings get hurt, when the expected 100% participation isn't forthcoming. And, even those you do reach, not all of 'em are ever gonna participate. Some folks, like WackyNephew, are the soul of friendly generosity.
Others, you might consider yourself lucky that they're votin' for Firefly, let alone anything else, for a variety of reasons, which are purely their own, and, not to be questioned by the likes of you or me. Bottom line, even among the informed, participation is seldom more than a small percentage, at best, in an arrangement such as this.
For my part, I still haven't had time to watch all (or, even most) of Surface, but, I recognize kindred spirits, and, so, I am happy and proud to help out, and, when I look at the daily numbers for Surface, I share the elation and the disappointment, depending on how the votes came down, that day. I cast two, mebbe three of my Noms for Surface, in addition to those I cast for other shows whose voters happen to be friends of mine. The rest, a somewhat reduced majority, I cast for my choice, right now, the guy with the pointy teeth.
So, I think we're doin' about as well as we can, what with those we've informed. Me, I'm gonna help my friends, including the Surface fans, not 'cause I expect them to generate a lotta votes, but, 'cause they're my friends... VOMP!
