Pa Ingells...

Hi,

I'm new to the group and to Firefly/Serenity. I've had a look around the threads and enjoyed reading the many and varied topics. This has probably been debated before but as a noob I hope I'll be forgiven.

Question: Did Joss model Mal's 'civilian' costume on Pa Ingalls (from 'Little House on the Prairie')? I know Mal grew up a farm and I just love the way his braces remind me so much of Pa Ingells....it's a very comforting image that is a great contrast with Mal's character. I can't imagine Charles (Ingalls) advising anyone "if someone ever tries to kill you, you try and kill 'em right back"...

Not too sure about Pa Ingalls, but from the random, context-less bits and pieces I've heard about Michael Landon, I can kinda picture him dispensing Mal's invaluable advice.

In any case, welcome to the 'Verse and welcome to the site! Others will doubtless be along shortly to pelt you with berries and DreamSicles (I'm not programmed to respond in that area...).

Pa Ingalls already got a restraining order filed on himself when we got here!
